Yet I would give her this career advice- becoming a lawyer and then switching to update person is a poor career move. In just about any professional career - accountant, lawyer, architect, engineer, etc. the early years can be tough, but sticking it out tends to turn into pretty rewarding outcomes.

It depends. I think that likes and re-tweets are more measures of how much your followers interact with you, but I'm not an expert either.

Buying followers is fairly common I guess (however one does that). So, you can have someone with 40,000 'followers' who barely gets any likes or re-tweets.
