Not at its current price point. Paying $2+ each, you're better off finding a local taqueria or Mexican joint (say hi to juan for me) and ordering true tacos.

Agree on the double deckers though.

I don't want Mexican food if I'm getting Taco Bell. I want American food pretending to be Mexican.

Correct.

Also, I am driving by a place I don't have to get out of my car.

Crunchwrap!

If this thread is going to go on for the next week I'm going to have to go get one. It's going to wear me down. Noisy seems like a fast food person, I'm not really but when that craving hits it's like I'm obsessive about it.

Not the good ones.

I recently went to a Mexican taco place run by Filipinos in a Chinese strip mall. It was quite good. Didn't have a drive-thru, though. There probably was somebody named Juan in there. Filipinos have a strong Spanish heritage from historic Global Imperialism.

I'll take "Restaurants that WaitingforRuffcorn will never patronize" for $1000.

Taco Bell has gotten very expensive. I remember while at my first full-time job, which was 2nd shift, I would get off work and swing through the drive through for a 12-pack of hard-shell tacos for around $5 if I remember correctly. then I found the double-decker and it changed my life, no more 12-packs after that.

To the best of my knowledge it is off the menu for several years now and was the exact same thing with a different name. Perhaps it is back without my knowledge. Don’t find myself making a run for the border all too often these days as the local ones mostly closed over the past 10 years.

Well it is back as of may this year. 2.59 instead of the old .99 cent menu though. Maybe I make a run today when when I’m in Davenport. I will not be repeating my Evanston order though. My stomach would not be happy.

If you weren't consuming a 12 pack before the Taco Bell...you weren't doing it right...

It costs as much to go to an actual restaurant now. I just wanted a couple late night things a few weeks ago and wound up spending $27.

I eat there once every 3-4 months now and suspect that I'll be having one those soon.

And yeah, for the questionable ground beef and "burritos" loaded with chips, the prices are 50+% too damn high.

The .59 .79 .99 era of Taco Bell was the halcyon days of garbage eating, for me at least.

Tacos are still super cheap, no? I thought you could get 3 for about $5.

Like real tacos or Taco Bell tacos? Taco Bell is $1.60 and $2.50 for Supreme. The local Mexican place's tacos are $3.

Taco Bell tacos. Real tacos are crazy by me. Supposed to be cheap food but you end up dropping $50 for a family to try out some small place that ends up being terrible.

I liked the double deckers.

Taco bell used to do some great deals. Especially when they came up with something knew. I liked the grillers. They were only a dollar. So you'd get 3 of each kind. They had that deal for a while. So that was always a cheap lunch for me. Then they made them a 1.50. Still a decent deal. Now they don't make them.

In my teens I loved the mexican pizza. They brought that back. I get it every now and then. But I think the price is too high. I know. It might just be a buck too high. But I like to practice getting the best value at taco bell.

I wish they went back to doing those special deals for whatever they have. They stopped doing it after COVID hit.

Let me explain the concept of perceived value.

I have a cheap taco. Mass produced shell. Iceberg lettuce. Shredded cheddar caked with silicone so it doesn't clump. Does that sound appealing to you?

Now say I take those same ingredients, put a little onion and cilantro on, make it seem authentic- suddenly you're willing to pay double, triple the amount. It's all about perceived value.

"We" rarely refer to him in general.

Did "We" spend all day doing our research? Yes,

I do love that everyone basically is telling them same story....but their version is correct. lol.....fact is France left/retreated/vanished without a fight of which the Mexican army declared a victory, someone at Hallmark found it and STEAK TACO BOOM!

Coronas for everyone.

Yes, it does. I know more expensive/authentic Mexican food is better. You're not saying anything earth shattering. I know taco bell is cheap shit. Everybody knows that. But I still like it.

As a former mult owner, if someone responds especially in an earnest way , you’ve done your job

But, Beardown is a mult too, so it’s all very confusing
