Bielima can coach, the program is back to respectability after years of terrible hires.

So if he continues a good year where will he be next year?

I highly doubt Illinois is a place he (or his wife) want to be long term.

He was born in the state at least....but I think he may want to get back to bigger programs someday. Maybe Iowa comes calling? (Doubtful)

Good question, but let's not forget they lived in Arkansas at one point. She can't be that discerning.

 True

But that NW corner of Arkansas is a pretty good place and wayyyyyy better living than Champaign

I'd think that North Carolina and Arizona State will be front and center.

Pat Fitzgerald has been pretty bad 3 of the last 4 seasons. There is no way he is on a hot seat, right?

This team is as bad as I have seen during his tenure but I don't see a developmental QB on the horizon and he lost talent to transfers the last couple.

I would think he is there as long as he wants to be.

As long as he has the full confidence of Pat Ryan I can't imagine that it's even a warmer seat.

Especially with the ridiculous stadium being planned.

He is a semi local to here (Prophetstown). Apparently he mentioned health of his mom to some friends when he took time that it was good time to be closer to home. I was told this when I mentioned that I didn't think he was long for Champaign if he has success but who knows.. I would think Iowa would be a program of interest if they ever came calling with his history with the program.

Those drawings are something. Stadium was pretty rough 30 years ago when it was still Dyche but that thing is crazy. Those are some deep ass pockets.

They don't even seem to be interested in firing Chris Collins so Fitz probably gets another 5 years before they look towards getting rid of him.

Thats the rub, hopefully he has a young assistant the players like that can take over when that day comes.

I do, he definitely doesn't want to get his ass kicked in the SEC again.

He may not want back in the SEC, but there are plenty of other places he could go that are better than the Illini.

He has tried leaving his roots once, and it didn't pan out well. Sometimes you have to know where you are needed.

No one needs to be in Champaign

Hearing 20K seats remain for Saturday's game. Dr. Ken - buy them out to start a sellout streak!

Seeking to gouge Iowans, they made every seat $75 for this game pre-season. Now they are paying the price for Illini fans, who've been kicked in the balls for decades, not wanting to pay $75 to sit in a balcony end zone seat. Of course the dumbass AD lacks the creativity to change things up on the go.

Fitzgerald, much like Ferentz, will dictate when they leave. Pat may leave for greener pastures someday but it won't be because they are pushing him out.

That stadium makes sense I guess- it's the Stanford model. Reduce capacity because you know you typically sell 25K seats to your fan base and then you don't have to worry about it becoming Kinnick East, etc because you have 25K Iowa fans descending on Ryan Field.

There has to come a point though where he's going to hurt Northwestern football and undo any good he has done. They are going to be terrible going forward.

Purdue has the opposite problem. Brohm is happy at Purdue and doing well but on his way to Louisville.

Can Louisville pay as much as Purdue did for Brohm? Isn't he in the top 10 for comp?

It doesn't matter. His dad wants him back in Louisville and his father is going to win.

It’s one thing to live in St Charles and quite another to live in manure land Urbana Champaign….

He's two years removed from playing in a conference championship game.
