Braxton gives off Leno vibes, good enough where you can overlook the spot for "just one more year", but not good

He's raw and he's been thrown into a fire. I'm willing to be patient with him. If he's simply inconsistent today, I expect him to be better next year. The Bears have the most success running to his side.

That's exactly how we treated Leno

He'd better show significant improvement this year if the Bears are planning on starting him next year. He's nothing more than "a guy" right now.

Was Leno good at run blocking immediately?

Leno got a second contract from Washington.

Pace fucked that up as well with his bloated salary cap issues.

I'm not saying Leno is bad. He's going to be a 10+ year starter at LT in this league. He's just back half of the middle tier, good enough not to move but bad enough to get your QB killed

Pickens also caught 6 passes for 102 yards yesterday but remember we just had to have Kyler Gordon.

Way better prospect than Leno, have said from the beginning he needed a redshirt year to get stronger. Still susceptible to inside power, but has the length and feet to develop eventually.

He's miles ahead of Leno physically.

Has been interesting to watch Poles give the vets he's picked up a look, so far not so good from a few of the WR's, but N'Keal Harry and Leatherwood are the two former first rounders they likely want to give a good run because they may actually be worth keeping around for next year.

Leatherwood would likely be starting if he was healthy at G or RT, and Harry is the big WR that can at least hold up the backside of plays that the offense needs, we likely see a lot of these two in the second half of the season.

leno was a piece of dog poop. All he was good at was picking the Bear's quarterback off of the ground after either he or the man he was supposed to block knocked the Qb down to the ground.

Neither of those players will be on the roster next year.

Velus Jones letting a punt hit him in the face and fumbling is the perfect visual for Ryan Poles' evaluation abilities.

We say that but he has been a starter since Day 1 and he is in his 9th season.

Poles still sitting on 6.6 million, paid Foles a roster bonus for no reason and has had a very questionable draft.

He whiffed twice in FA with Ogenjobi and Bates from Buffalo and then didn't seem to have a plan B for either.

He didn't?

Then how did he end up signing Justin Jones when Ogunjobi failed his physical?

And what other guard did he miss on when Bates signed with Buffalo? Who did you want him to sign?

Can I get a list of the free agents that Poles had an opportunity to sign that are having great seasons?

He signed Reiff and Schofield veteran Olinemen. Neither of which could get on field for one of the worst Olines in the NFL. He signed Patrick, the 30th ranked center. Which WRs FA would be his best signing? Probably Pettis, but he's had a ton of drops.

You could throw darts at a FA dart board and not do any worse than Poles did.

The punter was his best draft pick.

So no actual list of free agent guys who are having a great season. Also, no list of former Bears Poles should have retained.

Come on Nas, really? You think anyone kept track of FA's who were in the price range that Poles was willing to spend, but didn't sign?

James Daniels and Arob would be better than the players that replaced them.

What about the 6.6 million under the cap number and the Foles roster bonus?

I didn't specify any price range for the free agents.

For $25M, James Daniels is anchoring an offensive line that can't run or pass block. Tevin Jenkins has played better. For $47M, Allen Robinson has 12 receptions and 100 yards in 5 games. Dante Pettis has been far more productive.

When you are going to shit on a guy for not spending a ton of money on free agents, you should be able to point to the success free agents he didn't sign are having. That's not an unreasonable expectation.
