The Bears couldn’t accomplish 90% of these fuckups if they tried.

If a guy said “I am going to bobble a TD catch in the end zone and come down with it on the one inch line after I regain control” I would say there is no way someone could accomplish that, yet I just saw it occur.

Would more recovery have made either team good? Dolt indeed.

I said the games were brutal. I didn't say anything about the teams. They both suck. Last week was another terrible game. Those teams sucked. Fields probably sucks. You definitely suck. Lots of suck to go around.

The teams on TNF have frequently sucked. More time off would not change that. I’ll let the rest slide because you’ve probably sucked a few drinks…and I don’t blame you.

I’m ready to lock up the short armed nerd. Jenkins seems like the only competent player on offense.

You forgot Montgomery. Extend him.

Jeff Joniak sounded like he was having a panic attack on the 4th down play.

3.9 yards a carry for his career, you can get those guys anywhere.

I really wanted Fields to be a franchise QB. He’s not. He’s had enough starts without having “wow” sorts of throws—the kind of throws that make you think, “once he has some talent around him, he’ll be awesome.”

Of note for the apologists on the radio tomorrow:

The throw off the guy's helmet for an interception at the goal line.
He holds the ball forever (Herbstreit pointed that out with stats).
The overthrow of the wide open tight end in the end zone.
The missed opportunities for first down throws when he launches a bomb on third and short.
Lots of batted balls.

He doesn’t pass the eye test.

I am surprised he has remained healthy with the amount of contact he takes because of himself and his line.

Exactly. He used to have a throw occasionally that looked good. Now people get excited when he scrambles.

He’s washed. This was like looking a divisional game in terms of draft positioning.

Million dollar question. How much of Fields poor play, RedZone ineffectiveness, beating he's taking, d line deflections are his fault because he's a bad QB that holds on to the ball too long, or because of the horrendous situation he's been put in with rookie coaches, bad play calling and league worst o line and receivers. Racist Bob from Lagrange calling Gabe Ramirez overnight had a great debate on the subject.

Take away the plays Fields makes from scrambling . Does Carson Wentz get the same amount of excuses made for his bad play ? He’s the most sacked qb in the league, takes tons of hits, has a shit O -Line , average receivers and running back just like Fields yet all you hear is how bad Carson Wentz is. He doesn’t get excuses made for his play.

This is going to sounds crazy, but Fields almost reminds me of Tampa Bay era Steve Young. It's possible that with better coaching and better players around him that Fields could figure it out. But, maybe I am insane.

I've never seen local and national media make more excuses for an awful player. I can't listen.

They did it with Cutler and Mitch too but nothing appoaching the level they do with Fields.

Wentz was also bad in two other stops.

You seem to have forgotten the Cutler years. He got 8 years and a second contract while doing nothing of note. Fields likely wont see a second contract.
