my guess would be the Sox return a good profit every single year for their investors.

JR is like Bernstein when he stated that he sees his customer as the advertiser, not the listener. It's almost admirable the lack of fucks JR has for fans.

Unless you are college age, it's a far better experience at Comiskey than at Wrigley.

which is only after the Sox had to spend tens of millions retrofitting from the original JR design, which prioritized maximizing luxury suites, some of which haven't been sold out to this day. That original new stadium is almost a shrine to JR: take down a historic building, displace a community to build a new park, create acres of parking surrounding the building so that fans have to pay for parking and cannot go anywhere else for pre game, then build a "new" stadium that ends up being the last of the ugly 70s style instead of leading the wave of fan friendly retro stadiums started by Baltimore, which was the next stadium built.

JR has made some historically bad fuck ups in terms of operations without apology. However, he sticks to a budget so his investors never revolt.

I don't know about that. They're completely different experiences. Sox Park is fine. Wrigley isn't special the way it once was. I prefer day baseball.

Dolphin is correct in the extra tier of suites was a huge mistake. The upper deck at wrigley is a good seat. The upper deck at Comiskular Rate is worthless for a baseball fan, other than the first 5 rows between the bases. I'd rather have the last row in left center field than that garbage.

Seriously though, it's amazing how few people were displaced to build that park.

Wentworth Gardens is still there. Untouched.

For the most part it just swapped parking lots. But R.I.P. McCuddy's and O'Brien's.

The food, family experience, and parking are better at Comiskey. Wrigley is good for nostalgia and hunting.

We go to 4 or 5 games a year (typically on "giveaway" days that my kids are interested in, and always sit somewhere on 100 level. For game 1 of the last Cleveland series, sat in the upper deck for "mystery bobblehead" giveaway. Were basically right behind the plate, and views were better than I expected. Did walk down to the corner during the rain delay, and wouldn't want to sit there. Two biggest takeaways I had from the upper deck is that we had a hard time with depth perception on flyballs and the food/drink/"experience" of the concourse sucks compared to 100 level.

I always felt that Section 109 had the best mix of view, lack of stair climbing in the upper deck, concessions, and secondary market pricing for weeknight games.

The complaints about him being cheap. The Dodgers failed to win another World Series despite buying an all star team and having a great farm system.

Uncle Jerry has won more World Series than that organization in the past 20 years. I would hate to be a fan of that franchise.

He didn't stutter. His Uncle Jerry has given him tough love since '81. A Billion later, the results speak for themselves.

Yep! The most championships by any owner in the past 30 years. When his teams make it to the championship, they win without seeing a game 7

Also gave Albert Belle a record contract after the strike.

More evidence of his lack of talent in anything except making a billion. Let me reiterate that in the business of sports, loyalty to your partners over your customers....IS NOT A GOOD THING.

He has done both. I'm thankful for the amazing family atmosphere at the United Center and Comiskey. As a Chicago fan, I'm thankful for the 7 championships. I'm not sure if I would be such a meatball if Chicago teams frequently made the playoffs, but never won a championship.

Uncle Jerry is by far the best sports owner in Chicago in my lifetime. His trophy case likely puts him near the top of all owners in professional sports.

As an avid Tom Brady fan, you should set the bar much higher with JERRY. You want to talk about playoffs and the Bulls haven't won a playoff series in several years. The White Sox haven't won a playoff series in almost 20 years. You can talk about the seven rings, but you should also mention that we're getting near 20 years out since the White Sox ring, and 25 years out since the last Bulls ring.

Set the bar higher and demand more out of this ownership group.

He regrets 2 of those 7. That's $60 million he took out of his partners' families' mouths.

Krause wouldn't have drafted Jordan. He'd have taken Ralph. Not a doubt in my mind. Poof goes 6 championships.

Those Rose Bulls teams were exciting even after his knee injury. Chicago fans weren't happy about not winning a championship. However, I'm supposed to believe that these same fans would trade 2005 for to be Oakland and the Dodgers for the past 20+ years. I'm going to call bullshit on that.

I ain't trading shit. But I'm saying Uncle Jerry had little to do with it. He was BUSY making a billion. Mostly off of Michael Jordan and Jim Thompson. What a charmed life. What's it take? Like 7 games to pay off the yearly rent? He shouldn't break the lease, he should extend it.

Pedro Grifol and Joe Espada have impressed White Sox officials in the interview process, sources say.

Additional managerial candidates are believed to be involved, with a final decision possible before the end of the month.
