It's sometimes laughable when you look at the background stuff the entertainment/political types choose, so stereotypical that you can almost guarantee that any lefty is gonna have a copy of "Profiles in Courage", amongst the carefully chosen books on the strategically placed bookshelf in the background of the TV shot. and any righty is gonna have a Reagan book.

The Power Broker made a lot of appearances, as well it should. Great book.

Have always found it interesting that there are certain books that have been identified as the one's that every student must read.

Kinda makes you wonder if there is some kind of kickback between the book publishers and the academic types. There must be millions of copies of "Animal Farm", "A Tale of Two Cities", "Great Expectations", and all the other junior high english required books.

Credit to him for just embracing that he’s being anti-Semitic. Normal playbook for these things is to say you didn’t know you were being anti-Semitic and the insults were actually compliments.

As an aside, I expect Kanye will convert to Judaism by 2025.

Ye Matisse is a very humble young man.

This isn't a bunch of mental health episodes. This is a man who is building support for 2024. He believes there isn't bad publicity.

Ah, but there's the rub my friend, someone has to print and sell those books, then of course there are the obligatory study guides and questions to shape how the young skulls of mush are supposed to interpret the book.

There was an incident involving a local district steering staff toward "development" books and materials, it was easy to track the publisher, and then realize the overwhelmingly positive comments posted about the material were from people that wrote chapters in the books.

The education racket is multilayered, but incredibly easy to expose, just takes a bit of curiosity and internet access.

My favorite is the college professor writing a book and forcing his class to buy that textbook. And just for good measure if you happen to get used one you force the kid to buy a software code for the homework quizzes etc.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". I understand the significance of certain books, just always found it odd that my Freshman high school English teacher had the exact same take on certain sections of "A Tale of Two Cities" as Clif Notes, in fact the Clif Note questions were eerily similar to the ones she used to quiz/test me and my fellow hapless high school students.

It all became an exercise in spreading the takes provided to the teacher by the education material company than encouraging people to think and interpret ideas.

It also tried to teach a flowery and useless writing style that I had to unlearn when writing concise medical research papers. The real learning opportunity would have been to explain how the circumstances in Europe at the time influenced the writers of the Constitution, but that is still a difficult conversation with most people.

Walt: “We’re reading ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ in English. Is that any good?”

Bernard: “It’s minor Dickens. Popular in schools, but I think ‘David Copperfield’ or ‘Great Expectations’ is much richer. What is it about high school that you read all the worst books by good writers?”

I know he was on SNL, and I remember him poking fun at Dan Crenshaw calling him a pirate or something, but what mark did he even leave on that show? I don't watch it regularly but I can't even think of one character or sketch that he is known for or movies or anything he has been in like I can the others that have moved on to other things from SNL. To me he is just the weird looking guy I have been seeing on TV ads lately and I can't quite understand why.

We are living in an odd world where the lefties and righties inadvertently or maybe advertently, create a market for political types, if a right winger makes fun of or mentions a lefty, the lefty is soon making bank by giving speeches or appearing before politically sympathetic audiences. The exact same thing happens on the right where they take guys from the right that are mentioned or belittled on CNN, MSNBC, etc.. and they are giving speeches or appearing before politically sympathetic audiences.

It's really very similar to pro wrestling except the marks are one million times more gullible and have an almost religious level of devotion to their party of choice, it really does not matter who the individual is, they are just a random person the political power brokers have hand picked to fill that gimmick.

Numerous times I've had a lefty almost start crying when I made fun of their person of choice, the righties just try to avoid you if you are not in lock step ideologically, both are willing to accept incredibly idiotic and obviously ill prepared people to work the gimmick.
