i would realistically say the percentage of women NFL viewers that most of us would define as "fans" is closer to 20% than 47%. Im not talking about over the top super-fandom, just normal people who block off three-and-a-half hours every sunday to watch a game, maybe read about the team a little throughout the week, stop and watch MNF at least casually to see what is going on and possibly belong to a work fantasy football team. 47% is definitely fantasy-land, "say it enough and maybe people will start believing it" territory.

It might be 47% of "NFL fans" if by NFL fan you mean women who don't really watch or follow a certain team, but have a mild interest in the league overall due to fantasy football and/or their significant other.
