I suspected you didn't have an answer. Especially considering I've asked a similar question for the past couple of weeks. It's just easier to scream about spending like Kap.

Maybe you'll be right about Brisker/Twinkle Toes over Pickens. That seems like a better fight to wage than dying on this free agency hill.

I know the NFC is pretty bad overall. Certainly the Bears are one OT away from being a Super Bowl contender

genius.

I'm specially asking you why you think signing Reiff was a good move? If he was worth the money then surely he would be starting on this line? I understand he's not a left guard, but he should be good enough to kick another player inside. You constantly decry what a bind Poles was in due to no money but he obviously had enough money to piss away on Riley Reiff.

What you don't seem to understand is this, Bob. This one year purge/ tank/ rebuild/ whatever you want to call it was going to happen regardless of who the Bears made GM. The biggest problem with all of this is that the dumbass McCaskey family and shithead Philips didn't do this after the 2020 "playoff" game. Anybody who had the most basic knowledge of the NFL knew that the Bears were closer to a 10 loss team than a 10 win team. The Bears had 3 points and like 150 yards of offense until the final two minutes of that Saints Wild Card game.
Pace and Nagy should have been launched at the Superdome, and the process at Halas Hall could have started a year earlier. The Bears lost 11 games last year as it was! And as you pointed out elsewhere, in a wide open NFC North and perhaps a wide open NFC in general this season, being in a better position to spend going in tor 2022 would have a been a much better spot to be in for this franchise. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I'm basically pointing out the obvious here.

Any GM the Bears hired would have had to at least semi gut this roster and take their lumps for a least a season or two. It should have happened in 2021, but the Bears upper management and ownership is just that fucking stupid.

Yes, it was worth kicking the tires of a 2nd or 3rd wave guy who started last year. He's being paid $3M to be insurance and possibly mentor the young kids. Feel free to share what you would have done differently. You and MANY others have consistently been wrong about what free agent moves should have been made.

2022 will go down as the draft where Poles added punter/holder Trenton Gill.

Patriots 21 Bears 3

I don't think it is quite that bad. I still think Brisker will be a quality safety for awhile.

This Vikings division championship will force them to resign Cousins to another extension. That's a win for the Bears.

Brisker and Gordon will be back-up types I 'think'.

I'm not conceding that the Vikings will win it. They have been known to choke. Regarding Cousins, if they win too many games to draft a QB high, they may as well keep him based on what else is available.

I heard Bernstein and Lawrence interviewing Kurt Warner today. Larry wanted the Bears to hire Warner after he was done explaining why this offense isn't working for Fields. In short, it sounds like the Bears want Fields to go through progressions during a play, where Warner prefers an offense that makes pre-snap reads that determine where the QB will go with the ball. I believe I have the conversation correct. Feel free to correct me if not.

If Fields continues to struggle, Getsy's seat is going to get hot. At least among the Fields faithful.

You're still delusional about Getsy's job. Fields continuing to be Fields will have no impact on his job.

I agree, there are no better options for the Vikings. I am disappointed the Bears beat out the Vikings for Fields.

He's back practicing, expect them to take a look at him soon, likely gets a look at RT, if he was healthy would start him at guard ahead of Schofield.

Pats are likely salivating at the prospect of going up against the Bears Oline, they likely stack the box and force Fields to try pass knowing he will have instant pressure up the middle with a barely starting quality dude at C and a guy who is likely not in the league if Bears don't sign him.

The problem with this one is that as bad as the offensive line is that the defensive line and front seven are almost worse.

It is next to impossible to win in the NFL if you can't stop the run and the Bears have shown no ability to do that, so Pats will hammer them into submission and win 28-9.

Keep it. Maybe you can donate it to the Pack so they can apply it toward the purchase of a real wide receiver.

The Bears aren’t scoring double digits unless the Pats turn the ball over in their own zone.

You should watch paint dry. Will be way more compelling than the game.

You're not concerned your phenom rookie WR dropped 75 percent of his targets yesterday? Or that the team couldn't score on the most scandel-ridden and mismanaged team of the century?

Go Pack!

That incomplete pass to ESB may have been the worst ball I’ve ever seen a quarterback of any age throw.
