Un-be-f'ing-believable!!!

My greatest joy was to be able to share the joy of watching the final out with my son.

My wife told him to treasure the moment so that he can tell his grandkids while they are wiping his butt that he witnessed the '05 SOX

Wear those Sox jerseys, hats, and t shirts this winter. I am.

I'm proud to be a Sox fan.

Congrats to the White Sox from a life long Cubs fan. This team is eveything I wish my team was. One of the most dominating post season runs ever. Enjoy it, I wish I could!

As a Cub fan, this pains me to say, be your team deserved everything they got this year and it was a well deserved championship.

I have to slam my head against the wall now.

The Congrats now should be for having something to care about in October. I think the Cubs making the WS has given Sox fans more entertainment than it has Cubs fans.

BTW, how'd you guys do in the playoffs this year?

It has been entertaining 3 of the 4 nights. Very entertaining.

White Sox haven't lost a game yet in the playoffs! Not sure why you'd be bringing that up.

Congrats to Frank Thomas for the positive press.

Chicago White Sox legend Frank Thomas apparently had a diva complex and was “a selfish prick,” according to author Jeff Pearlman.

I have zero doubt that young Frank Thomas was everything stated.
I would suspect (hope) there's a possibility some of that has subsided with age. I recall by 2005 he was much warmer with the media and I'd say current day, he's very good on post-game.

But....I have no idea as I've never met him. One of the all time greats, no doubt.

He was in a bad place for a little while, if you remember, when his outside investments went teets up and his first wife took his money and kids. I think Frank is a good guy. Life can darken the mood of any of us for a while

He has always had a million dollar smile and I think immaturity short-changed his earning potential. I do agree and remember all that going down. That sort of thing can be very enlightening. Like I said, I think he's fantastic on post-game and he seems very grounded and genuine.

I met him as a teenager and thought he wasn't as big as I expected. I saw him again at his restaurant in like 2015 and thought he was bigger than before. Each time he was approachable. As a kid, I'm glad he wasn't an asshole because he was my favorite Chicago player by a mile.

Forget Chicago. Big Hurt is one of the best right handed hitters to ever play in the big leagues, period.

Amen, papa. His stats might not pop as much as the steroid guys, but in '93 and '94, this right-hander had about two of the best seasons I have ever seen at the plate. Before the steroids era, the best slugging percentages were basically Ruth, Gehrig, Ted Williams, and maybe Jimmie Foxx. Foxx may actually have been a righty, too....

If memory serves me correctly, Thomas and Belle were never able to put up big seasons at the same time. If they were, it should have propelled one of those late 90's teams to a division title.

Thomas was better in 97 and Belle in 98 but both were good.

After some of those early seasons on the Indians, Belle was just (and I have nothing but memory to back this up) a garbage-time hitter.

Thomas is one of two players in MLB history to have at least 25HR, 100 RBI, 100 Runs, and 100 walks in six consecutive seasons.

The only other player to accomplish this? Babe Ruth.

Zippy is right about the years, which actually lines up with my memory. There were two 1.000 OPS years there, they just weren't together. That being said, a "bad" year for Frank Thomas would be Andrew Vaughn's wet dream. Also, go back and look at Belle's 98, that couldn't have been bum slaying.
