19 runs to 11 passes so far. Opened up the second half with multiple runs. The started running in earnest in the second Q. Should have started the game that way. Dumbasses took six games to figure this out

Cousins, Fields, Goff. All better than Rodgers right now.

The Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes might be playing better than the Packers’ Rodgers, but coaches who have studied Rodgers this season think he’s still great. One coach who studied the Packers’ loss at Washington last week confirmed Rodgers’ own estimate suggesting seven of the quarterback’s passes easily could have been caught in that game, but were not. There was a pass delivered under a rusher’s arm, the usual passes friendly to receivers on the run, a deep pass missed when Sammy Watkins either could not or did not run fast enough, a sidearm throw placed perfectly away from a defender — the usual Rodgers artistry.

• Rodgers is more finicky than Mahomes. Finding receivers to fit with Green Bay could be tougher than finding receivers to fit in Kansas City, simply because Rodgers appears tougher to please.

ESPN’s Matt Hasselbeck drew on his own experience as a player in making an interesting point along these lines Sunday. He referenced his 2005 Super Bowl season with Seattle, when the Seahawks were transitioning through receivers and Hasselbeck grew frustrated because he couldn’t always trust how new wideouts would run routes. The situation improved when his QB coach, Jim Zorn, told Hasselbeck to throw where the receivers are, not where they are supposed to be.

Rodgers’ frustration with a group of unrefined pass catchers is warranted, but not necessarily productive.

“There is so much there (in Green Bay) that we don’t know when it comes to Aaron Rodgers and his wide receivers,” the evaluator said. “It is almost like, ‘Why would we spend premium draft capital on someone the quarterback probably will not like?’ That is what it comes across as to me. Rodgers plays a part in it, too, like nobody is good enough. They can’t please him.”

An NFC exec said that was actually a good problem to have.

“The No. 1 thing you want is someone like him or Peyton Manning on your team, where you have to check with him on stuff,” this exec said. “He is going to be picky every time, but he is also picky on who the head coach is, who you are, all those things. The guy is the best player in the game, or right there with Mahomes. Twenty-five GMs would trade places with Green Bay’s GM tomorrow.”

The trade deadline is near. Let’s see if the Packers can attempt a Hail Mary even half as effectively as Rodgers has done over the years.

This tracks with GB having the most dropped passes in the league after Miami so far: https://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/tmleade ... L&rank=232

And it's been obvious all season that he needs actual talent on the WR side. His season started off with a dropped pass on a perfect TD bomb to Watson. So it's been a theme since no joke the very first pass of the season. The Jordan Love pick strikes again.

It sounds like Rodgers told he he was afraid.

“I was taken aback a little bit because I’m like, ‘Hey, y’all got to pass the ball, don’t y’all?’ That’s just me,” Miller said postgame. “Of course, I want to get sacks and I want to rush the passer, and I want to do all this stuff. So I was like, ‘OK, they’ve got to start passing the ball. They’ve got to start passing the ball.’ But nope, they just kept on running. I even asked Aaron Rodgers on that fourth-and-1, I was like, ‘Hey, you’re not going to drop back and pass the ball?’ I’m not going to tell you what he said because that’s my guy. I don’t want to get anything started. I was just … it was a shocker for me personally.”

It must have been hard for Rodgers to throw with a small amount of tape on his hand in a place where it seemingly wouldn't be supporting any actual moving part of your hand.

No, your posts are a waste of bandwidth. PFF is far from perfect but that doesn’t mean there is zero validity to their numbers. Some are better than others but if a guy grades out horribly there’s a pretty good chance he had a bad game.

Most of the Packers offensive drives this year have looked like a death march when they have been passing the ball. That is why I was shocked to see Rodgers tied for the lead in touchdown passes in the NFC. 13 isn't even averaging 2 per game so that shows a lot about the league itself this year. I am also surprised he has 1800 yards. They seemed to get a little something going last night in the pass game for once. Collinsworth made a huge deal about Samari shitcanning his route once it was covered and reversing his course and then getting a pretty easy TD pass. He made it sound like everyone else will just run the route as its drawn up and then shut it down once they are covered.

I'm glad you are finding positives in losing. It's going to come in handy over the next decade. Your rebuild could take longer than that without a HoF quarterback.

Your WRs suck and you need to trade draft capital for any shot at the playoffs. Welcome to the cellar

I am cool with them trading picks to get a guy like Jeudy or Moore. They will be around for a while so its not just about his year. They wont though. That is not how they roll. I fully expect to get someone like Golloday who the Giants would gladly ship just about anywhere or finally sign Will Fuller so he can get hurt after 2 quarters.

This is how they roll:

MVP QB entering the twilight of his career but still dangerous. Logic says let's capitalize and ride him to glory. Or we can draft a guy to sit on a bench for four years. The latter sounds good - let's roll.

Smart. There's no need to invest a 1st round pick on a WR or TE when you have Karen. A team can only have 1 diva.

Funny, I'm thinking while the other 3 NFC North teams rebuild, the Vikings going on a run like they did from 1968-1980 when they won 11 out of 13 division titles.

Pack weren't contending in 2005. Before drafting Love they just got eliminated in the NFC title game. so totally different situations.

Smarter GMs would have thought about acquiring pieces to get back to the title game and win it.

Mike Sherman had been the GM, that was probably the worst decision in franchise history.
