Packer fans have taken this crumbling of the franchise well. I applaud you but I don't think you realize how long this is going to last.

Looking back at Favre, wasn't it the same thing?
Favre was being very cryptic about his retirement. Packers knew they had to have a guy ready if/when ol' Brett walked away. Rodgers made a few comments, but it was clear he wanted to get paid rather than retire. And up to this season, Rodgers is playing at a higher level in the last years of his career than Favre was..

Also, Rodgers fell to them in the draft. Its not like they moved up to get him. Rodgers sat in the green room pissed off for hours, the Pack drafted him, and he said he would make the 49ers pay for skipping him. Whoops!

A supposed SB contending team with a MVP QB desperately needs a WR. Then they get outdone in the race for a 6'4 potential phenom by a rebuilding team that's selling assets left and right.

Go Pack!

FavreFan told me he didn't want Claypool.

I'm surprised the Packers weren't willing to beat the Bear's offer for Claypool since Green Bay will most likely use their high picks on a shitty defender from Georgia.

I don't get how the Pack aren't going all out - Miami just traded multiple day 1 picks to capture a SB berth. The 49ers did the same. Even the fucking Bears got in on the game and they are trash.

If you're not going all out to win then why is Rodgers still on the roster? It's binary: if you have Rodgers, you capitalize and go for it all. If you're too weak and incompetent to capitalize, then get rid of Rodgers.

Not surprising to me, they have always for the very most part operated this way.

The Packers losing to the Bears for Mack was more about draft projections. There was nothing they could do about that. This was just being cheap.

I'm guessing Pittsburgh viewed the Bears 2nd as a likely higher pick than the Packers.

Then throw in a 4th. You have a 2 year window to win. Hoarding draft picks is foolish. Walking away empty-handed today should piss off all Packers fans.

This is where GMs earn their money. This dude didn't. Straight negligence, he can't keep his job. Love was bad and this just compounds the mistake even more. Every single serious team made a move

Eagles
KC
SF
Buffalo
Miami
Minnesota

And then you have the dumbasses in GB.

Yep. If you're not thinking about the window then just get rid of Rodgers and embrace the rebuilding era. Makes no sense to stay crappy and stick with Rodgers.

You do realize the Packers may very well lose 10 games this season, right? The difference in the two picks isn't going to be all that much. Maybe 6 spots or so. If the Packers really wanted to improve, they would have done so today. Maybe the guys in the cheesehead front office consulted with Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams about what to do today

I can't believe the Packers offered a 2nd round pick for him. They are currently getting the same production out of a rookie 4th round pick.

The deal I wish they got in on was Hockinson. That guy is a beast and they didn't give up much of anything for him.

He fit what they are trying to do, and they knew he was better than any receiver they currently have. It's why he made sense for Getsy.

Romeo Drops is not "productive". Let's start there.

Then what is Claypool? Their stat lines are almost identical this year. Claypool has 2 more catches and Doubs has 2 more touchdowns.

That's a bit simplistic to compare stat lines as it presumes conditions are identical. To start Drops drops the ball. https://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/leaders ... L&rank=232

Second he screws up his routes causing Rodgers to miss him or to go elsewhere. Drops not knowing what he's doing is well documented. Drops substandard performance is the reason the Pack were in the market for a WR anyway. Rodgers and Claypool would automatically become the North's best QB WR connection and allow the Pack to finally move the chains and via run and pass. You are too in love with Drops and Watson and totally miss the larger point that y'all are screwed without a credible WR1. On top of that you've just wasted another year of Rodgers. Great job pissing away the last remaining years of an all time great because of the incompetence of the front office

He understands that. He's just trying to justify the Packers inaction.

I've never been a fan of Rodgers, but the Packers unwillingness to make a trade was a big fuck you to Rodgers and Packers fans. I know Hawg says he's used to this, but with Rodgers getting ready to retire soon, you would think the organization would have more urgency to win.

Your argument doesn’t really make sense though. If the Packers acquired Claypool, the assumption would be that he would make them better. While you could say that he also helps the Bears, any gain he provides is offset by their cleaning house on the other side of the ball.
