In an episode of Spotify’s “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast this week, host Joe Rogan told former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard that a litter box was installed in a school that his friend’s wife worked at for a girl who “identifies as an animal.”

Probably should wait a few days and I pretty much guarantee some school did have or does have a litter box.

Why would you doubt it? Because it's nuts?

This rumor has been out for a good 10 months at least and so far there's no evidence of it. Thing is there are transition closets and schools are actively putting in policies that say don't notify the parents if Jim wants to be called Jane at school or vice versa so it's not hard to believe something like this could be true anymore. What about the furries?! Think of the furries!

MSM is all over it to be false, which is a little odd. Really? This is the bridge too far? And Rogan isn't a one sided goof. As I said in the other thread I think he is genuine and honest and values his relationship with his audience. Him and Maher know why they are there and attract the audience they do.

He should not do things like that or he'll lose the trust he's built which is one of the reasons his audience is so broad. he admitted he was wrong.

His audience believing that he's objective is the problem. Mr. Fear Factor is an entertainer first. His job is to be interesting and entertaining. He clearly does those things.

And yet, you attempted to deflect this in the other thread. "There were no litterboxes but they are doing weird shit in schools so he was kinda sorta right!"

He is one of the the more balanced and objective entertainers though. In some ways I think of him like I think of Maher. I like both of them.

I don't really disagree. And that's a pretty levelheaded take you have on him.

But I'm just saying if that is your take and you still kind of try to justify the litterbox thing by deflecting with the different stuff going on in schools, somebody who is whacked out like Rogue or JOrr is going to take nearly every word Rogan says as fact and run with it.

It's not deflection. I said there was no evidence in 10ish months of litterboxes. I'm not sure that we are too far off though. There are people acting like furries in school and the school was aware of it. It's not about being right. It's about right and wrong, this shouldn't be happening.

Maher is trying to inform, though. He uses comedy to persuade and educate. Rogan appears to dabble in politics, but he's primarily trying to push content that his audience will find interesting. Critics and worshippers come with it.

I'm not justifying the litter thing. he said he was wrong or it didn't happen. I said I had never seen any evidence of it but there is stuff in schools that shouldn't be happening and it's not unbelievable considering the direction we are headed. That's the issue and it needs to be stopped. If you think acting like a furry in school is good as long as there are no litter boxes I disagree.

You are as wrong about things as anybody else on the forum.

The point is that you're taking an outright lie from Rogan and trying to tie it to something else in an attempt to legitimize what he says. "He was wrong here, but look at this!"

Rogan lied. That's it. Nobody can disagree with a fact.

The crazy shit going on or not going in in schools is a completely different conversation for a completely different thread. "BUT WHADDABOUT DRUMPF" is essentially the same thing you just did.

Surely Rogue and Seacrest will quote your last sentence and post LOLs.

I heard that story in the spring from someone at work. They said it was some local HS here in WI....maybe Kewaskum. It sounds like bullshit but if it actually did happen it was probably a parent trying to prove a point about accommodating other dumb shit.

Few things go on in schools that weren't going on when we were in school. Looking for something to confirm misguided fears isn't healthy.

Club random is the pinnacle of good information. I think you probably like Maher because no matter how badly he disagrees with liberals he wouldn't vote any other way.

Rogan isn't a right winger or really conservative. I think he would vote on whatever he thought was important and who backed it. His views are pretty mainstream and in some ways liberal. You might not think they are based on your beliefs though. I'm pretty sure he was a Bernie guy.

I don't really have to look though. It's news and it's not misguided. The parents at these school board meetings are right and this shouldn't become what are schools are or how they are run. What's not healthy is what is happening and my concern for it is normal, appropriate, and often validated.

Do you support this? How would you feel if this were one of your kids?

It's sort of what it looks like. Odd decor, super cheesy, and expensive. I can't imagine what is cost to build. It's like a bizarre 80s supper club on drugs or something.

I'm not a consumer of either show. I haven't watched Maher regularly in about a decade. When I have watched either show, I've found Rogan's to be more interesting. I don't put much weight in the political views of either.

i was in rural Vermont last week visiting some family and had to laugh when a couple of the old-timers started talking about litter boxes and furries and all that crazy shit going on in their tiny little high school. The same rumors were flying around my town that it was happening (it wasn't) and it is one of those stories that keeps getting passed around and somehow turned into truth even though it is complete bullshit.

Have you ever been actively involved in any of your kids schools? I have. I've sat on various boards and committees. I've run a few. I never saw anything remotely disturbing in my 30 kids schools. Whenever I wanted something to change I spoke to the people who could get those things done. I brought parents with me or joined other parents in their efforts. We got the changes we wanted more times than not. We acted instead of whining or peddling fear.

You are trying to peddle a 2 second clip of some possible LGBTQ kids being affectionate and possibly college kids dressing up in the other 3 seconds of the clip as some countrywide problem. Even if the Twitter clip were accurate, that's an anecdote. Even then, there's nothing to clutch your pearls about. Heterosexual kids do far worse than that in damn near every high school daily.

There shouldn't be any affection in school and the teachers shouldn't be present or fostering it. I'm against it with heterosexual kids too. You want to believe all this is fine go ahead. I don't and it's not whining or peddling fear.

Oh yeah? When the kids had to start paying for school lunches, how much of that went into your own coffers?

It is absolutely peddling fear. You actively seek out things to satisfy your fear addiction. It isn't healthy for you or anyone around you.

You don't know if any teacher fostered it or not. You watched a propaganda clip that you believe validates your fears. There's nothing wrong with affection. Kids are going to be affectionate whether you or I like it. You don't strike me as a prude. I'm confident young Spaulding was affectionate in school.

Despite your first grade retort, I don't think you're a monster. The stresses of parenthood and life take us in a lot of different places.
