he was going to fire half the workforce no matter what, for financial reasons. i would imagine, being the owner of a rocket company that lands boosters back down using advanced software, he didnt see anything difficult to do at twitter. he probably wanted to use strippers to pick employees that stay based on badge photos, but didnt want the bad publicity. also using the lines of code excuse holds up to any employment rules...
