I clearly answer your question and now you're going to take the Boilermaker Rick Purposefully Obtuse Approach™ and pretend you don't know what the conversation is about.

Actually you're the one being "obtuse" with the whole "sexual discussions" thing. Just Say what you mean by "sexual discussions" without all of the ambiguity and I will be happy to answer.

Do you really not know what's being discussed here?

A girl comes to a teacher and says she thinks she may be a boy. What do you think should happen next?

I would ask her to explain why is it that she feels that way. That would be my response.

What would you say? I doubt you would tell them or their parents that they are insane and should see a doctor. Like most people, you're likely going to say "okay" and move on. Just like you would do for all the other "crazy" things a teen child may say.

Also, we aren't just talking about teens here.

Bring on the drag queens!

See, I know you and Spaulding actually agree on this issue more than you disagree but for whatever reason you want to argue with her. When she brought up your "daughter" in a theoretical way you could either acknowledge that agreement or try to make it out as if she breached a sacred CFMB protocol by *GASP* "bringing family into it."

No you should ask the student have THEY told their parents and if they have not or will not, then there is likely an issue in the parent/child relationship.

Children should be able to open up to their parents about things like that and if they have not and can not, then that is a definite red flag.

I agree.

The 4 second clip showed a high school or college "girl" with rainbow hair laying on the stomach of another kid. Then it broke away to show a "woman" costume dancing in a completely different class.

Either way, I agree, they should tell the parent or ignore it if that kid is someone like me.

This is the crux of the whole thing. You want to replace parents with members of the CTU. That's why I say you're anti-family.

No, we don't agree on this "issue". I don't believe that there are widespread LGBTQ Sex Fests being held in public schools all over the country that aren't being reported by the liberal media. I genuinely believe that any educated person who believes such a thing should see a doctor. Even politics shouldn't cloud how absurd that thought is.

Another non sensical argument. Shocking coming from a "scholar" such as yourself. Its not up to any teacher to regulate the relationship of a child and their parent. Personally and professionally speaking, I would never want to know or seek to know the details of any student's personal life and never have. I have always encouraged colleagues to avoid such discussions if possible.
However, the hypothetical scenario you described is not that. The student reaches out to the teacher for guidance on an issue that they are having. That isn't exactly teachers "encouraging" students to explore their sexuality. Teachers "encouraging" such behavior is what you've been bloviating over for months and yet your question has nothing at all to do with that. Shocking!

LIke I said, I read the entire thread. I don't see where Spaulding suggested there were rampant LGBTQ sex fests in school. What there is, as The Missing Link just acknowledged, is a concerted effort by teachers to get between children and their parents and using sexuality is an easy way to do that when children are coming of age.

Actually I don't. I believe that teachers should teach and parents should parent. Unfortunately I have (by virtue of working in administration and teaching for over 2 decades) worked in environments where parents aren't necessarily parents.its not Anti Family to say this.

And yet you're suggesting above that teachers get to decide when they should assume the role of the parent. If a kid tells his parents that the teacher is doing a shitty job, do you also feel that the parent should show up to teach the class the next day?

It's not being a "parent" for a teacher to actually LISTEN to a girl actually state that they believe they are a boy.
As stated it's not the teacher's JOB to report to a parent about the sexuality of their child. Its up to the PARENT to build a relationship with their child so that they never have to EXPRESS it to the teacher in the first place.

There's some gray here.

Edit: You all are generally in agreement on the roles.

I would say the gray comes in at maybe 15-16 years old. Though I'm sure as a parent you wouldn't like a teacher keeping a confidence like that with your kid behind your back, The Missing Link reasonably points out there may be a reason for doing so.

But if a 10-12 year old comes to talk to a teacher about his or her "sexuality" that conversation needs to be shut down immediately and the child's parents informed.

What if a teacher calls a parent to inform the parent that their child is gay or a different "identity" and then the kid gets the shit beat out of them once they get home because the parent is intolerant of such things? Then what? And wherein is the teacher's responsibility in bringing this (child abuse) about?

That's the exact sentence I quoted. Are you having difficulty reading your own sentences?

Nah I already corrected this.

I would say the gray comes in at maybe 15-16 years old. Though I'm sure as a parent you wouldn't like a teacher keeping a confidence like that with your kid behind your back, The Missing Link reasonably points out there may be a reason for doing so.

What if a teacher calls a parent to inform the parent that their child is gay or a different "identity" and then the kid gets the shit beat out of them once they get home because the parent is intolerant of such things? Then what? And wherein is the teacher's responsibility in bringing this about?

It would be unfortunate but it wouldn't be the teacher's fault. Parents are responsible for their children. You can't trumpet the sanctity of the family on one hand while inserting government workers into that family on the other.

What you're suggesting- though you may not realize it- is that a teacher's values should trump those of a parent. And that's the entire issue and why someone like Spaulding finds a blue-haired Tik Tok teacher talking about eating pussy so vile.

Child abuse is merely "unfortunate" and not something that everyone should try to prevent at all cost. Interesting

Yes it is. They disclosed the information which created the abus8ve situation in the first place

DCFS exists for precisely that very reason. Also to "inform" the parent of something that is a non "academic" matter (which is the true obligation of the teacher) is to place them squarely in the middle of the family and their "situation"Whether you know this or not

What you do not quite understand is that to LISTEN to a CHILD and not JUDGE them is one of the chief responsibilities of a teacher. And what you also do not understand (as one that obviously has had limited time dealing with children) is that one of the reasons that children have such a difficult time EXPRESSING themselves to people like you and Spaulding is because they know that you will pass JUDGMENT and disapprove of CERTAIN behaviors. There is NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT. YOU where your intolerance as if you're the Michelin Blimp and it's stamped on you or something.

I'm not in a classroom but I've dealth with DCFS enough in divorce cases that I don't consider them heroes protecting the children. They're just another group of government drones collecting massive benefits and accruing an unrealistic pension.

In the vast majority of cases, parents are going to care about their kids more than government workers do. I get that government workers want to tell people what to do. It kind of goes with the territory.

If the kid feels the parents will be supportive, they will tell them before they tell a teacher.

But parents that abuse and molest children are heroes? After all "sanctity" of the "family" TRUMPS all according to you.

Yeah corporate shills (as evidenced by your unfortunate comment) like you who get a perverse thrill out of shitting on their workers are very much the desired "alternative" I'm sure

Not those that abuse and neglect their children

As opposed to whom? Catholic Priests and Nuns? As kooks like you and Spaulding demonstrate on a daily basis, they most assuredly are the "answer" to all that "ails" the world aren't they?

The parent doesn't have to be "supportive." You're inserting your values. Don't you see that?

On some level you understand. That's why CFMB has a protocol that "families are off limits" but not that random students are off limits.
