I am going to refer them to their social worker. They can talk with the kid about why they have not told their parents. That is what they are trained to do. I teach math.

Also typically speaking, when kids come out they tell their school social worker. People who are trained to deal with these situations. They rarely come out directly to a teacher.

What is a child entitled to? What if Little Johnny complains to a "social worker" that his parents denied him a gaming system? Should we remove all children with poor illiterate parents from their homes and give them to people like Anne Burke? One could certainly argue that would be "better for the child."

When does a family's position take precedence over a government worker's position? I would say government intrusion should end after preventing a parent from beating a kid with a hairbrush or putting cigarettes out on the kid's arm. Beyond that, I do think family is the most imporant thing just like so many here often say and that the parents' values should hold sway. That's a position obviously in opposition to the one being proffered by The Missing Link.

If you want refuse to let your kid dress like a woman or read magazines about sucking cock that's your prerogative as a parent. And I don't want some teacher or "social worker" stepping in. He can do that shit when he's 18 and leaves your house. If you want to teach your kid to hate white people or that Jews are wicked, I think that's wrong, but I don't want government workers to step in to stop you.

Yup, but it got hijacked, original question was about an ad campaign that actually makes you not want to consume the product.

You can throw the new Jimmy Johns ads with the not funny tall comedian guy, used to like Jimmy Johns on occasion, but the ads are so far away from the original concept restaurant I used to go to back in Macomb during my sheepskin quest that it makes me not want to consume the product.

Then again, the entire sub sandwich industry has grown quickly to an almost unfathomable level given the fact that subs or grinders used to be a primarily regional affair, remember getting one for the first time while visiting family in Connecticut.
