Who would have guessed the 40+ year era of the Bears searching for a player who could throw the ball well would end with "Well, it doesn't actually matter if they have a player who can throw the ball well".

Traditional quarterbacks are no longer in the majority. The Bears appear to have a 21st century quarterback.

I don't recall any bad throws yesterday. There were a couple of questionable decisions. Throw the ball away on the sideline instead of taking a sack.

1 bad throw. Penalty negated it. But overall, an excellent day throwing. 17-28 3 TDs. I think the Hawkism applies here.

He's a game manager with his arm and a difference maker with his legs. You may be the best player in the league when it leads to nearly 200 yards of rushing.

Just as we perfected the forward pass and the T formation, we will now usher in a new style of quarterbacking.

We'll never forget the way you thrilled the na tion
with the Fields for ma tion

I love what he's doing, and yesterday was a fun watch. But he's getting compared to Lamar and Vick. He doesn't throw as accurately or decisively as either of those two guys, which means he's going to continue to accumulate punishment.

There were a couple of bad throws (one was a short throw three feet over the receiver’s head). But was struck me was that every single designed run for him seemed to be a great success. Will be interesting to see how teams adjust.

He didn't take a lot of hit yesterday and the Bears play on grass.

No, I fear he's going to tear it on a non contact play when he makes one of those crazy ass cuts...it makes my knees hurt to be honest.

Have to give Getsy at ton of credit, he's building an offense that perfectly fits Fields. Just having the threat of a guy like Claypool in the lineup impacted the offense because you got one PI on a deep shot, and got robbed of the late PI on which should have at least resulted in a FG attempt to tie the game. Claypool also get Mooney more favorable DB matchups, Poles has significantly upgraded the WR room already.

You still have a few more years with Fields on his rookie contract allowing you to overspend and significantly upgrade your offensive talent.

We are entering into a 3-5 year window where the team should at least contend for division titles.

It's funny, MANY thought (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky sucked during this period. Nearly everyone believes Fields is good because of his play over the past month.

I agree - I give the coaches a lot of credit for "getting it" and building a game plan around him, and I give Fields a lot of credit for hanging in there, keeping his head down, saying the right things and working hard. I am still not sold on his passing ability but I love how they are working to his strengths. The league is getting tape on this new offense so the next few weeks and the rest of this season will be interesting to see how he and the coaches adjust.

I don't think (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky strung this many good games together....it seemed like he was great game/shit game.

Fwiw, that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky stat set includes the aberration Tampa game.

Yeah that Tampa defense was beyond anything I have ever seen in the NFL, even worse than this years Bears..the secondary just didn't cover guys.

Nagy had a great game scheming guys open. None of us believe Fields is having success in spite of Getsy.

This three game stretch has been the most exciting offensive football the bears have played in forever. And they’re doing it consistently without gimmicks or fluke plays.

Nothing compares to MVP Grossman's first 6 games in the Super Bowl season.

Half of Mitch's stats were from one game against Tampa Bay.

If you took that game and its stats away and didn't touch Fields numbers, they're still fairly equal.

Not on the ground, not even close.

Mitch couldn't even keep the Steelers starting job. You can remove his penis from your mouth. Mitch will likely hang around the league as a backup for another 6+ years and make millions. He's married and (I think?) has a kid on the way. He will be fine.
