I'm beginning to suspect that I may be the worst youth soccer coach in the history of the sport.

The only thing worse than my team are some of the parents of the kids on it--and some of the parents of kids on opposing teams. Truly horrific individuals.

Sport parents are the worst...especially the ones projecting their inabilities onto their offspring.

Soccer is bad, but there isn't much worse than a travel baseball or softball parent.

I have coached youth sports for almost 20 years now and I completely agree with the softball answer. By far the worst parents I have had was back when my daughters played softball.

That is something that I have really enjoyed about tennis. I have had a run of really good parents and no issues over the last 10 years of coaching tennis.

I'm running into it now with one of the dads of one of my travel bowlers. Guy never shuts up, and is micromanaging every freakin shot...giving his kid terrible advice. He's a baseball coach. I was happy that the kid's mom brought him to practice on Monday. It gave me a break from that nutcase.

I should mention that as bad as some of the parents are, a couple of the grandparents are even worse. There is one grandpa who is incredibly derisive towards everyone other than his grandkid and a grandma who seems like she wants to fight people all the time. It's quite a scene.

Yeah, we kinda out of hand. Sorry about that.

Coaching elite level travel ball was a blast for me. The overwhelming majority of the kids and their families were on the same page and enjoyed a healthy family atmosphere. In house baseball, not so much.

Works in a marriage too

The junior leagues are a good way for kids to earn scholarship money from age 5 or 6 on up. It's never truly enough for a full ride, but I know a couple of kids that have aged out of juniors and made enough that it should cover books and tuition for 3-4 years each.

The key is there's at minimum, 40 some games. It's hard to get all worked up over one call or one game. And playing time is the least of concerns. And when there's that much time together, of course it develops a family atmosphere. And with that family atmosphere, on the rare times you have to put a foot up a kid's ass, the parents are going "hell yeah".

"Same page" is an apt description.

My oldest played 115 games at 13yo. I asked him a year ago and he said that he wouldn't have changed a thing. But then again he and several of his best friends got to see the country, sometimes without his parents.

Works in a marriage too

Works in Management as well.

It's a basic concept....positive reinforcement is always more effective than negative and punishment. Psych 101.

Constant hammering mistakes only results in getting tuned off. It's a de-motivator.

Bowling. Even easier than golf. Just lay it on the spot.

I like those okay but some people are busting on them.

Snickers and Reeses are always appreciated but I liked the randomness of sixlets those wax peanut butter things the generic bag (wax bottles bottle caps etc) and kits. Take five is all time favorite.

Absolute worst raisins pretzels and pennies. And those foamy peanut things. And pixie stix because they opened and got everything sticky.

Now I have none of it.

People in my neighborhood went nuts today and we have about 80 king size candy bars which I’ll be compelled to eat over the next month.

It’s a heavy cost but a price I’m willing to pay.

How hard is it to know what you want to purchase when you get up to the counter at a convenience store? Last 2 days I been in to get something simple and had to wait forever while idiots hem haw around about cigarettes and lottery tickets. Make up your fucking mind before you get to the counter!

Waiting for people to buy lottery tickets is the absolute worst!

I have a recipe we tend to make as it gets cooler outside that calls for Italian sausage. I always preferred the taste of the fully cooked Johnsonville variety over the fresh stuff.

After a few trips to various Jewels & Marianos, it seems Johnsonville stopped making it.
