I haven't been to the United Center in a while and I'm gonna try to make the Arcade Fire show tonight after work. Which parking lot is my best option if I'm coming a few hours after doors open? Something that doesn't need advance booking and accepts debit Thanks in advance.

For Bulls games it seems like you can just park in the center's own parking lots (i.e within the gates) for a decent price. Otherwise if you use an app like SpotHero once you're ready to head in you can see which lots still have space. You don't necessarily need to book in advance if you don't want to, you can just use the app as a visibility tool.

I used to park in this garage which is a 10-15 minute walk down Madison. It is cheaper and a lot easier to get out of after an event. It is located here at Madison and Ada: 1301 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60607.

I used to go to the Blackhawks bar across the street, but it does not seem to be there anymore….

Edit: WesrEnd, I guess it did close. Damn.

I liked parking east of the stadium because you could hit WestEnd, Billy Goat or the Ogden before the game. The area has been upgraded significantly since I went to UIC. However, I never ventured west of the stadium....

I know that most people won't, but the area was always empty. I think the police used to patrol over there and sweep up or out anyone walking around there.

It is much easier to get out when you park east like that. Plus I would always go out before the game, so you are hanging east of the stadium anyway.

I deserve my “humblebrag” reputation around here, but it gets a bit old when you keep bringing it up. I suggest you get some new material if you want to appear witty.

Trust me you can’t outrun your rep around here. Back when I would not to walk 10-15 in Jan-Feb though.

Used to go to the UC alot back in the day. You could always find free parking by Whitney Young, which is only a few blocks east.

Ha! We typically walk the 35 minutes from Ogilvie to to the UC and back again. Even in January. Plenty of places to stop and warm up :drunken:

Thanks guys. I didn't end up going because I didn't feel like spending 200 bucks for one floor ticket. More of a casual Arcade Fire fan anyways. Yeah, I usually use StubHub. I just wasn't sure if the UC parking lots fill up or not. Last time I went I was easily able to park there.

Before the Blackhawks rebirth in the 2010's we'd park by Malcom X College.
