It's a recurring theme for her. She seems to believe that particular people- usually women, often herself- "deserve" to be paid a particular amount for performing "work" that is clearly not valued enough by others to justify the payments she believes to be appropriate.

i was going to make a mention of england's football pyramid to compare--that there are hundreds of players that make less than $40k a year to play professionally. they take second jobs as painters or construction workers, etc.

but even here in the US, professional softball players and la crosse players make roughly what a WNBA player makes. in some cases maybe even less. same as lower level MLS players. they find a way to make a living or at least don't bitch about it or have articles written about it.
