Which band do you think has the biggest sound either in studio or live recordings?

List your top five and name the songs.

1. The Who (Love Reign O'er Me)
2. ZZ Top (Sharped Dress Man or Legs)
3. AC DC (Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap)
4. Queen (We Will Rock You)
5. Van Halen (When It's Love)

Honorable Mention: Black Sabbath (War Pigs), Led Zeppelin (Achilles Last Stand--Knebworth '79)

James Brown and the Furious Flames
Queen
Rebirth Brass Band
The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Edit: virtually everything they did had mammoth sound.

Anything produced by Phil Spector, most of Motown, the moment from Born to Run where Springsteen says "1, 2, 3, 4."

I remember some radio station (maybe The Loop?) would always play a unique version of LaGrange where the drums were remixed with an astounding amount of reverb.

Alot of those groups had a ton of production and 10,000 layers (wall of sound). The biggest sound that has ever popped out to me is Pantera with Cowboys from Hell. 1 voice, i guitar, 1 bass and 1 guy on drums and it is just an eruption of sound. Let me repeat that a metal band had an entire 1 guitarist and ripped a song like that. I am not even a huge fan of them, i have bever bought one of their albums but I have basked in their awesomeness many times.

I saw My Bloody Valentine at Santa Monica Civic in 2007 or 2008. I've never experienced anything like that and I've seen a lot of loud bands.

I saw Local H once may years ago and couldn't BELIEVE the amount of sound those two guys put out, my ears were ringing for a couple days after that.

I saw Soundgarden back to back nights at the Aragon Ballroom in 1996. Loudest 2 concerts I have ever attended. I actually wore earplugs for the second night.

That was just sheer volume. I saw them in Joliet several years ago, and it was louder than fuck.

Good suggestions listed already.
I will add King's X. Great band and a huge sound for a three piece.
