I think most of the partners have made and continue to make so much money with the Bulls that Reinsdorf can do whatever he wants with the Sox and they'll go along. A few guys that aren't on the Bulls gravy train may complain, but what can they really say? Reinsdorf has finagled a stadium that is basically free and he gets the state- yeah, that's you and me- to pay for improvements every year.

Nihilist Nardi sometimes wishes Nas' Uncle Jerry would have packed up and moved to St Pete. Just for the shits and giggles of the great and powerful Oz.

I know. Just a little fantasy I have. We're in a division with teeny tiny markets and your Uncle has sucked for almost 5 decades. In many ways.

I hear you. Baseball was different until the last 15 to 20 year or so. Those small markets didn't have the same disadvantages as they do today. Also, White Sox fans watch on television until the playoffs. We don't show up if the team is great or if it sucks. That's small market shit.

You mean what's left of White Sox fans since 1981 due to all the fuckups, miscalculations, and disrespect?

I was just potential life in my father's nutsack in the spring of 1981. I find it hard to believe that thousands of diehard White Sox fans are still staying away because of a dumb business decision 40+ years ago. Hell, I saw more Sox fans in Milwaukee a couple of years ago than I see at Comiskey for some games.

There have been plenty of dumb business decisions since.

I was just talking about this with a friend. Yeah, I'm not going to stop being a Sox fan, but I'll go to 6-10 games instead of 25-30.

Because Reinsdorf doesn't respect the fans. LaRussa is just a recent example. I didn't care about LaRussa. I was personally fine with the hire and I don't think it made any difference on the field one way or another. But it was obvious that the VAST majority of fans didn't want it. And Jerry just said, "Fuck you. Eat it." That may not have been bad baseball, but it was certainly bad business.

Huh?

I would adore another 3 outcome hitter. Put him in front of Grandal to protect his 3 outcomes.

At this point Gallo is pretty much a one outcome player. Strikeout.

Typical White Sox. Go cheap and pray.

Where are you guys getting your news? I've seen nothing about the Sox acquiring Gallo and nothing about the Astros acquiring Cueto, for that matter.

There’s no way they go after Gallo.

They let their most consistent hitter walk to clear a glut of LF/1B/DHs and then immediately go after another one?

The Cueto rumor came from a post Cueto made with him and Dusty when they were both with the Reds.

I'm pretty much done with the WHite Sox. LaRussa was pretty much the last straw and Reinny isn't going to even think about putting a good product on the field to compete with. I am also sick with the stupid ass money they are giving these guys. DeGrom's contract was obscene as was his whining about being underpaid as a MET. Fuck him and anyone with that attitude. This guy is going to be paid more than $1M per start and when you see that the guy really has been a china doll as a starting pitcher he'll be really making $2M per start since he hasn't pitched more than about 18 starts a season in awhile.

I'll stick to going to watch high school and a few college games and single A pro games. Hell with watching these over-paid prima donnas dogging it like so many of the White Sox did last season.

I don't know what the end point is going to be with major league baseball but there is no way that more than maybe 6-7 teams will have a chance of winning a title going forward with these hundreds of millions bucks being paid out. Even Boston of all teams is being squeezed out from being able to pay for the tope free agents while Reinny worries about milking slugs like Moncada and Grandal for all of their pesos worth.

Wait a minute, is this a scene from My Cousin Vinny? Are the sox going to sigh Joey Gallo the lawyer to be their right fielder?

It's insane...and since most of these guys are getting pulled after 5 innings, it's like $200k-300k per inning. Sick.

If they want someone to light a fire under the players' asses, sign Crazy Joe Gallo.

Hahn: I had an agreement with the agent, but Kenny and Jerry vetoed it at the last minute. I'm REALLY trying, guys.

Haven't seen anything yet, Rod. I guess they are working hard to building a line-up around Grandal and Moncada. I hear that Henricks is about to be sent packing. Probably for a couple of other hobbled, almost was outfielders to surround our can't see, mansion living broken winged center fielder, Robert. I saw where some team gave our old friend, Mazara, a minor league contract to play. Maybe Hahn can trade for his sorry ass. That's it. An outfield of Jimenez, Robert, and Mazara would be just the ticket. Coupled with an infield of sparking performances by Moncada, Anderson, Elvis, and Vaughn with Grandal anchoring it all at catcher, would be inspiring wouldn't it?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. :eye: :eye: :eye: :eye:

Word is that the Sox were all in on the Aaron Judge sweepstakes. Their offer was $500 million, with $259 million deferred to 2030 thru 2059. They had the largest offer on the table, and Judge took less to stay in NY.
