I think sex education in schools should be taught. I don't have an issue with the link you posted and the subjects they discuss.

I think it would be a valid thing to mention in a sex ed class in middle school. There is no good answer on how "old" you should be to learn about things like that but I'd rather it happens with a solid plan from experts rather than from the most knowledgeable older kid about these subjects.

Right because peers don't hold sway over authority figures. What fucking Utopia do you live in?

It's OK to let kids find out about some shit on their own. You don't have to helicopter EVERYTHING.

Son sit down, I want to talk about some totally inappropriate stuff but it's out there and you're going to learn it anyway. Some people treat it like a ketchup bottle, for others it's all in the wrist, me I'm a deep throat stroker pocket pussy kind of guy...you can use spit or lube...shower works best because cleanup is a breeze.

Of course it seems like that to you, you want to make it unreasonable, even though my position is completely reasonable and has been clear for years.

So you do think sex education should be taught in schools?

I'm going to ask this again because you seemed to indicate I was making you sound unreasonable for saying that you think there should be no sex in school.

Do you think sex education should be taught in schools?

Sex ed in school should probably be more of a bio type discussion on reproduction and physical development. Some type of discussion on STDs is probably important at an older age. Maybe that’s where the groomers can find a hook to launch seminars on gay sex.

If the instructor feels compelled to bring in props, they’re doing it wrong.

Expert? What? What makes somebody an expert on this? Why would you ever let an adult who is more or less a stranger talk to your kids about anal? Why would you need to discuss anal with a 6-8th grader in any context and what would that context be?

Kids I need you write a paper on the steps of anal tonight. I know you are 12 but I'm an expert so this is okay. Make sure you and your partner consent to this and decide who is the top and who is the bottom. You can take turns, you can flip a coin, you can Rock Paper Scissors. Some people only like top some people only like bottom we're all different and we are all okay. First wash up. Some people use enemas...Next lube up...when you put things in an ass...

I think there are ways you could study the appropriate developmental age for this topic just like you could any other topic.

I think there is a good discussion to be had on the age to start discussing these things.

However, unless your argument is that there should be no sex education in school, then the same things about "an adult who is more or less a stranger" is true for any of it. Once we get to the point where you say if any sex education talk is good for 6-8th graders or even high schoolers we can get into the specifics of why you may want to at least make mention of other ways that two people interact in these ways.

If it is discussed it should be completely biological and scientific with no feelings attached to it especially in public schools. Here is how the body works and here is how reproduction occurs that's it. Private can discuss the morality of it. Nobody should be discussing positions and sex toys ever.

There is a huge difference between me saying hi I'm Mrs Spaulding here are the parts of the anatomy and here is their function and Hi I'm Mrs Spaulding the dildo expert look at my 50 dildos this one feels realistic this one is hard this one is good for different positions this one goes in my ass and here's what I go for don't you think? One isn't appropriate at all and never will be.

Sorry, but I'm not sure I want my kids sex education to come from the older brother of a kid in the neighborhood.

Open lines of communication with your kids is not helicopter parenting.

I doubt your kid even gets out in the neighborhood.

It's not an anatomy class. It's about how reproduction works but also the safety of actions. I think it would be very hard to warn against the dangers of std's while not at least mentioning that you can get these std's through methods that aren't the "traditional way".

That's how I remember it being. They weren't giving tips and hints on how to do it. However, it was "You can still get herpes even if you don't do X but instead you do Y or Z".

It answered your question. Yes if they only discuss the biological and scientific parts it's fine. If they have to discuss identity and anal then I think they should also have to discuss God and morality and I don't think that would fly in the public school system. It shouldn't be binary. Most things aren't no matter how badly you want them to be. And if you make it binary in that extreme I'd say no sex ed shouldn't be taught then. Any parent that wants to protect their child would agree. I look at that curriculum and I think what people passed that and we are a totally corrupt and morally bankrupt society.

This is only valid if he considers himself an expert at jerking off. If he's not an expert we are going to have to find one. Expertise is a key issue in the Brick house. Only the best jerker offers can speak about jerking off.

Ok. You answered it but then you put in so many disclaimers you just made it even less clear.

To me, there are two reasons to have it.
1) Knowledge of reproduction. However, does that really matter that much? They'll figure out one day how to have kids no matter what. It's not like anyone 100 years ago was like "I wanted to have kids but I just didn't know what to do!".
2) Safety. You want them to know the downsides and potential problems. STD's. Unwanted pregnancies. Legal issues involved. You can't just act like only one type of activity exists and successfully discuss those things. You don't have to glorify anything or put in anything that does anything more than define things and explain that doing those things can still have negative consequences.

Now again, maybe you think it's only parents who should discuss any of that stuff. Opt your kid out. Teach them yourself and ignore completely all the other things if you want. However, you seem to think it should be taught in schools so that's not the issue here.

It would not be very hard to talk about stds.

Kids you can get stds from skin to skin contact, sexual contact and exchange of bodily fluids. If you limit these activities you limit the risk of contracting a std.

A lot of them do, it's even possible the parents might be supportive at this school. It doesn't make it right. I'm sure when they cover anal in public schools between 6 and 8th grade it will be much better than this guy. It's a shame he can't do more with all of his resources.

https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Standards-Courses.aspx

Adults shouldn't be talking to kids about sex like this. It's wrong.
Most kids are going to learn about things like this whether schools mention it or not at around the same age. It's not like we can say "Hey, let's not tell kids about anything" and they won't learn about it until they are in their 20s.

It's a tough thing to think about as a parent but I have a young kid who is already learning all the swear words because people they know have older brothers. While it's not the exact same thing as swear words the same thing will happen with any information you hide.

Kids shouldn't learn anything. Learning in school is the problem. Not their batshit crazy parents who pump their heads with every fear imaginable.
