Over the years, I think I have been a decent gift giver. But it gets increasingly difficult to find things for mom and my two twenty somethings. I also need a corporate white elephant gift. I was turned onto Uncommon Goods, and found some different gift ideas for 2022. Just trying to help my friends around here out as we get closer to holiday gift season.

We have a get together tonight with some friends. Doing a white elephant thing. I am taking a Cubs book of trivia someone gave me a couple years ago. Should be a hit in a room full of Cardinal fans.

Bring a broken chair with a bullet hole in it, shopped at East St. Louis.

It's a good site, some unique stuff but a little expensive. You can get some ideas from them and find similar products other places. They've gotten a little out there the last few years. I was on there a few days ago and they had a uterus ovary necklace for supporting abortion. Struck me as odd in itself but nothing says great Christmas gift like a necklace that supports the termination of an unexpected or whatever pregnancy for Christ's birthday.

Nothing says Merry Christmas like a $100 bill.

Happiest day of my life was when the adults in the family decided no more gifts for each other. The year my brother and I gave each other identical gifts was the final straw for us. I'll bring a bottle of wine for the Christmas dinner. Probably more appreciated than 90% of the gifts we've given my father over the years.

we used to draw names and do gift exchanges for about 10 of us similar aged close family types. Set rules and what not. but ultimately we all realized it was easier to stop doing that and just get our children more stuff so thats what we do.

We have close friends who's family does a gift exchange and its a giant pain and its full of problems. its a family that had 4 children. 3 of the 4 children are divorced and remarried. However, a few of them are still friends with the ex's so the ex's still participate? and now the ex's new spouses are wanting to participate? and one of the "children" have grown children of their own who are like skanks and want their skank boyfriends to also participate.

My friend was handed over the reigns of organizing this monstrosity a few years back and its become a christmas tradition to sit down with them over a glass of eggnog listening to how much of a disaster it was this year.
