Parents should know about all this stuff and it shouldn't be going on. Both are true statements. I don't care if the state, admins, law enforcement, parents, or anyone else approves of this. It shouldn't be going on. This is wrong. We're a truly sick and decaying society if we say otherwise.

I already provided the "clarification". And the original comment was made when I didn't know that it was part of sexual education seminar. And also before i knew that it was "optional" for kids to attend. Something which I had to reference in order for it to be known on here. Shocking.

Our civilized society gives more power to specific labels. They have nothing to do with my feelings or yours. Being called a groomer, pedophile, or rapist carries far more weight in our society than any other labels. Even if the label is false, it can destroy your life if enough people hear it. Libtard, Trumpet, racist, or murderer don't have as much power.

It's hard to come back from that. I agree with your other point about labels in general having different levels of effects. I think I once read something about right-wing societies, when trying to humiliate their opponents, would drop the pedophile label on them.

However, I disagree that being accused of racism doesn't have the same impact--in some parts of our society. I've personally seen people have to buckle under the pressure of that, and we have seen many examples of that in our culture. Social pressure and conformity is really difficult to withstand. Racism is the best example of that today. It affects our public policy, for goodness sake.

Like, no one is gonna shame Bernstein for laughing hysterically at the McSweeney's joke he read today about small towns. They shouldn't, either--it's a joke--but Bernstein was smart enough to cleanse his act of all race-related jokes ten or so years ago (as we all know).

I put racist on a different tier because I don't think you will be universally ostracized if someone calls you a racist. Some people proudly wear that label. The other things will get you universally ostracized. IMO, you would have a hard time finding folks who are proud to be called a rapist, pedophile, or a groomer.
