If Dansby can hit in the .270s or above and that power that's been there the past 2 seasons can remain, that would be terrific. Hopefully, that's the case. It'll be interesting to see what he was paid. I'm sure his wife playing for the Red Stars was a big factor.

Hit 52 HRs past two years. 10 in COVID year. Hate to admit, it's not a bad signing. Excellent d, around 25 bombs, good deal. They have the money, they're losing more salary next year.

It appears to be relatively reasonable. Hopefully he doesn't suck.

Mildly enthusiastic. At least it's adding some talent to a roster of mostly stiffs. Hopefully he's an actual high character guy (not a contrived one) who continues to be durable, hard working, and doesn't tank with all the windfall dough like many do.

Can someone explain to me what all the hype about this guy is. I quickly looked at his stats and he seems very mediocre, but I've been ignoring baseball for a while so I need to be educated.

He uses his pronouns correctly

They have to be betting that last year (5.7 WAR) wasn't a fluke. If they get that every year for four or five years, it will be worth it.

Yeah, he seems like a good character, durable player...let's just hope he doesn't pull a Heyward, where the WAR immediately craters.

Overall, I'm still not sure the Cubs are better offensively this year after losing Contreras. At least we won't have to look at Madrigal as much.

Less than Baez wanted, an extra year over what Baez got from desperate Detroit. And Swanson today is a better overall player than Baez today, even if he can't tag as well and doesn't have a MLB logo tattooed on his neck.

Hopefully all the bleating BCB/BN types who are so upset over "losing the core" and are too young to remember the idiotic 1974-era sell off of the 1969 core... hope they all STFU now.

This deal is much better than twice the dough for Correa. Nice job.
