No cause given at this time. I hadn't heard anything about him being unwell.

There are a bunch of old Oakland Raiders waiting for him to get payback for the Immaculate Reception.

The avoidance issues that nearly brought Jim Brown out of retirement are still odd.

Wow that is a tasteless comment towards a guy who literally just died. Gotta love the people coming out of the woodworks that probably didn't even make their high school varsity squad, taking time to spit on someone's grave.

I will back him T-Bone. He was a cool guy and a great player. I am not sure what RR is on about? He took the time to chat with my son and I and take a selfie at the Pitt-PSU game. At the time my kid was a HS running back and that was a big deal.

The guy was a legend as a Steeler but for some reason the first thing that popped into my head was that sad last season in Seattle, I remember as a kid thinking that just looked wrong and why would he do that? He really has been forgotten as far as all-time great running backs but back then i remember him being an all-time yardage guy and being looked at as a big deal. Now his legacy is mostly the immaculate reception and always running out of bounds. He was a great champion.

When Harris was approaching Brown’s record, Jim Brown started working out with the Raiders saying that he didn’t think that a guy he felt always ran out of bounds deserved the record as much as a guy like Walter would. Brown was pretty bitter iirc.

I also remember that but let those memories go. Just like Joe Namath with the Rams.

Oh ok. I vaguely remember that now. Jim was not shy about his opinion and usually tried to back it up that is for sure.

He and Rocky Bleier together in the backfield was a pretty amazing backfield. As a sidenote - those of you who don't know too much about Bleier and his story should read his book "Fighting Back". I read it as a kid and it made a BIG impression on me, I still have that old ratty paperback that I read probably a dozen times and just typing this makes me want to read it again. What a story, that guy went through some SERIOUS shit.

The burning question is...Did he have a deathbed confession?

Last line in his will... "and to the Oakland Raiders organization and fans, it hit the ground".

The deathbed confession that matters would be coming from Frenchy Fuqua - he’s the only guy that will ever know for sure.

Did Senor address this at all? Franco Harris was someone he was very displeased with during the Penn State scandal.
