just got back from the Jewels in Bolingbrook
Bad of course, but I managed it ok...picked a good line
As is often the case w/ these type of situations, the shopping itself isn't too bad, the issue is in the insane checkout lines.
Also 0 carts. Had to use my 24" pythons to lug around a basket w/ 50 pounds of food in it

Headed to Costco this morning and couldn't even find a parking space...just kept going. Checkout lines there can take forever on a good day so I can't imagine what it was like inside. Gas stations were packed as well. Fortunately Binny's wasn't too bad and we're pretty well stocked with food at home already, so being stuck inside for a couple of days sounds pretty good right now.

One last trip to Mariano's at 7:45am. No issue or crowds.
We have beer.
We have wine.
We have bourbon
We have tequila.
We have bacon.
We even have the goods to make old-fashioned's.

Bring on the Snowpocalypse!

Do your shopping during the blizzard when everybody is afraid to go outside.

Debating when to shovel. Half my drive way is empty and half has about 3-4 inches due to the wind.

I do t think we got 2 inches just over the border in WI. Hard to tell since it’s blowing around. -7 when I took dog out this morning and close to -30 with windchill, that is definitely no joke. Takes your damn breath away when out there in a sweatshirt

That's because they cleared the roads. You clearly weren't out yesterday. That drive would have taken 2 hours.

Reason it wouldve taken 2 hours wasnt because the roads were bad , it was because people were acting like they had 12 inches of snow on them

Nothing wrong with that. Though it wasn't what they were predicting it still was enough to cause traction issues.

Considering the way this snow is blowing, I'm glad we didn't get more of it.

There is more to a winter storm than snow accumulation. You should go stand outside in a swimsuit for about 30 minutes.

Walked across the street in shorts and tank top. Fingers in pain but otherwise I made it. The wind is brutal

I made a run in some shorts and a hoodie. I was fine leaving out of the house. I was fine inside a cold car. I stopped for gas on the way back, and the wind kicked my ass..

As a lifelong shorts all winter guy, I put on sweatpants to shovel. Probably could have done it in shorts, but not trying to impress anybody.
