You are new here, so you'll get some leeway, but most of the time when someone asks an open ended question requesting factual information, we like to let SHARK answer it first.

    Believe it or not, I vaguely remember Nanci Donnellan. She was "The Fabulous Sports Babe" who hosted a syndicated midday sports talk show when ESPN Radio 1000 was actually known as Sports Radio 1000 WMVP in the early '90s, and was once of the first national shows that ESPN Radio broadcasted during the week besides "GameNight", which once upon a time featured the likes of Keith Olbermann, Tony Bruno, Chuck Wilson & Todd Wright from the network's home in Bristol, CT. Nanci signed on with ESPN Radio about a year after they starting national sports talk radio in 1992, and I think was cancelled shortly after WMVP pulled the plug on its first attempt of sports talk, circa 1994.

If you ever heard of her, you must be effing old. I remember way back when, damn near killed the ESPN brand. Just goes to show--ESPN has always been more arrogant than you can even imagine. Let's get a fat pig, call her a babe, and watch people listen!!! Holy shit, these sports fans are dumber than we thought!!

Sports Babe stunk up the joint till at least 1997, if I'm not mistaken. I might have some old sales kits in the basement to prove it.

That (awful) program was the beginning of the end for the original WMVP that ran from Oct 1993 until June 1996 when the all Sports format was dropped. ESPN purchased WMVP a couple of years or so later. This was a horrible mistake by WMVP Management when they yanked local programming to add this pitiful show. It was a money saving thing(what else!). I told Larry Wert(who is a nice guy,and whom to this day I get along with great) that they "signed our death certificate" by putting this garbage head to head with "The Monsters" on the Score. It became the laughing stock of Chicago Sports Radio. Nothing personal, just awful!

No - you're thinking of Harry Teinowitz. Sports babe is probably only 325.

I believe this was the original slogan and billboard campaign for the Mike North Morning Show.
