Figured a thread would be in order now that a suspect has been arrested and charged.

Watched the press conference, no real release of information yet. Details cant be released until suspect is extradited and appears before an Idaho judge.

Per news release -

"At a press conference on Dec. 30, police in Moscow, Idaho, revealed more information about the man arrested in the killings of four University of Idaho students.

Moscow Police Chief James Fry said Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was apprehended in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania.

He confirmed that Kohberger is a graduate student at Washington State University, which is located across the state line about 10 miles away, in Pullman, Washington.

Latah County prosecuting attorney Bill Thompson also spoke at the press conference and added that Kohberger is facing four counts of first degree murder as well as one felony burglary charge.

He explained that the details surrounding his arrest and the information used to charge Kohberger will remain sealed in the probable cause affidavit court records until the suspect is brought back to Idaho and charged locally. He remains in Pennsylvania for the time being.

Thompson explained it "can take a while for him to get here" due to the extradition process.

Earlier on Dec. 30, law enforcement sources confirmed to NBC News that a suspect in the slayings of four University of Idaho students last month was taken into custody in Pennsylvania.

Court records provided to NBC News show that Kohberger was arrested on a warrant from the Moscow Police Department in Idaho accusing him of first-degree murder. On Friday, a judge ordered him to be extradited from Pennsylvania back to Idaho, according to court records. He is slated to make another court appearance in Pennsylvania on Jan. 3, Thompson said."

Women are obsessed with this as they seem to be with all true crime stuff these days.

It doesn't matter what age they are either, have had several of Mrs Claw's cronies and several of my younger staff members go off on long rants about the story, for some reason women are incredibly interested in criminal behavior.

If your a young dude, hell, even if your an old geezer, you can gain favor with the fairer sex by brushing up on the murder mystery of the day, it will at least get you an in with a women, walking up to a random woman and saying, "Hey, did you see they caught the dude that did the Idaho murders", is the best pickup line going these days. Of course you will have to suffer through hours and hours of true crime tv crap in between hook up sessions, but there should be a golden zone right after the killer is revealed on Dateline NBC.

Holy crap, if they wanted images of his hands, why not do what I've seen cops do many times and I've had done before, have the driver come back to the patrol vehicle and get in on the passenger side while the cop runs the ID for wants/warrants. Cops all have cameras out the wazoo inside their patrol cars and they'd have gotten much better footage that way than what they ended up with here.

Mistake was either being lazy or expecting an faster LE response and rolling right up on the murder scene in his personal ride. Once they identified his car as being in the area at the time, they pulled video from local businesses/home Ring cams, etc and looked for that specific vehicle. If his vehicle is never clocked near the murder scene in that time-frame, he has a better chance of getting away with it.

There's the arboretum he could've parked on the other side of, it's about a mile, mile-and-a-half from the house (1122 King Road on the map). Walked through the tree park to the murder site, done his killing, then walked back through the woods to his vehicle and skated undetected.

Probably he wasn't expecting to have so much time to make his escape post-killing. Maybe thought if things went sideways he could quickly dash out to his car and speed off. But you're probably not getting away in that situation anyhow--at least not without folks noticing the vehicle tear-assing outta there.



Students who took his class on how to get away with murder should ask WSU for a refund.

Probably the best move would have been to park in the downtown area just off campus--Pine/Ash streets, near the base of Sweet Avenue. Looks like Sweet runs right out to the highway out of town. Parking on campus could be dicey with cameras and bored campus cops looking to stop and talk to anyone out of place.

Got to say I’m a bit envious of how close those kids lived to a golf course.
