Blade and Bow was on sale at Festival. It is incredibly smooth. I think I found me new love.

Without knowing anything about the hype...a friend gave me a bottle of Blanton's as a gift.

That's the best I've had with exception to Woodford Double Oak.

Damn, must be a great friend. Lucky you.

I stopped by 1792 on the bourbon trail and my wife went overboard on the purchasing. I didn't like it all that much but it was ok. Drank half the bottle. Middle son had a few friends over in the basement to play video games. There was just a splash of liquid in the bottle the next day. Treating me like a freaking jerk by not just getting rid of the evidence entirely. I'm not the type of person who would leave just a little in the bottle.

I don't mind playing the game of being blissfully ignorant of some things. Don't put it in my face and ask me to avoid it.

Standard Market is having another bourbon tasting. EH Taylor Buffalo Trace: small batch, 18 year marriage, single barrel in bond, straight rye, barrel proof

Oak and Eden Spire Select...rolled the dice based on a long recommendation from Gold Eagle Liquor in Libertyville.

This is heaven in a glass.

Been on a Bourbon kick lately. Evan Williams has become my favorite of the more inexpensive brands. We have a little package store in town that only has a few options. I would say my rankings are

1. Evan Williams
2. Wild Turkey
3. Bulleit
4. Jim Beam

My husband really likes Buffalo Trace stuff. Blanton's, Weller, Stagg, EH Taylor, and used to be on Eagle Rare but is off that. We did a pappy tasting, it was good, glad we did it but wouldn't be worth it to buy a bottle. It was leathery if that makes sense, so different from almost anything else. I like Markers Mark.

Even though I am rooting for Edmonton, Evan Rodrigues is having a good series for Florida

Just had some Whiskey Acres out of Dekalb. They partnered with Beer on the Wall to make a special batch. Very smooth.

I've been trying local bourbon of late and found Driftless Glen. Their single bourbon was good, but not great. I also tried their Bourbon de Naranja, which was orange-infused. I was hoping it would be good for an old fashioned, but its just fucking pure gasoline. Dumped the bottle.

Are you local to Baraboo? Up here, J Henry or Wollersheim are better options.

funny how I missed this when you posted it and how many more bourbons I've tried.

Blade and Bow is fantastic. Similar taste profile to Blanton's but arguably better.
Law's Bottled in Bond. Love this one.

Kirkland's Bottled In Bond is back at most Costcos in the area. Great price point at 1 Liter for 25.99. Read last year that it's 1792 BiB, but don't know whether that's changed.

Also a strong favorite of mine is Ezra Brooks Cask Strength (or just the big-boy 99). Binny's had it as a store pick for like $40 for awhile and it was magical, but they regularly have the 1.75L 99 Proof which is just as tasty.

Finally got around to trying Blade and Bow. I would rank this at the top of all the ones I’ve tried.
