7-2 when he's played this year. If Mitch didnt throw 3 red zone picks few weeks back ,they'd be 9-7 and in the playoffs .

Yep! That (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky game, where nearly all of his incompletions were red zone interceptions, will probably cost them a playoff game

I'm very pleased with what I've seen out of Pickett. Hopefully next year we'll see what he can do with an OC who actually knows how to scheme and call plays.

I agree. Like Lovie, Tomlin has struggled with the coordinator position though. I think Pickett can be something like a Justin Herbert. That should be more than good enough to win with..

Keeping (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky as a backup wouldn't be the worst thing. In fact he may be the league's best backup. His ego probably wouldn't handle it though, I'm not sure mine would either. Backing up a younger unproven dude and all. But still, he's an elite backup.

No chance mitch is on the team next year, Tomlin fucked up by starting him and making him a captain.

Yeah, the captain designations are a joke. Zach Wilson is a captain, for crying out loud.

The players voted for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky though.

Captaincy doesn't really work for football the way it does for hockey. I wish the league would stop trying to force it.

You think captaincy is as big as say 20 years ago in the NHL in CH?

It works if you make the team leaders the captain, you can't make a guy a captain and hope it makes him better or become a leader.

Did it again. 9-8, a putrid Jets team not beating a putrid Dolphins team keeps them out of the playoffs

Saw a stat that in the 260(ish) games he has coached, the Steelers have only played 1 game after being eliminated from playoff contention.

Yep! They need a competent coordinator now.

I'm worried the late season success will have them thinking "maybe Canada isn't that bad". Yes, yes he is.

How many Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky starts were they from making the playoffs?

One. He had nearly 300 yards against the Ravens and 4 incompletions. Three of his incompletions were red zone interceptions. I believe they lost by 3 or 4.

I am not sure what is going on in Pittsburgh and I do believe the 49ers are the real deal, but that was not good yesterday and wasn't good last year.

It's called missing Big Ben. Coaches/GMs these days get too much credit for what is QB work. See the entire GB organization and the dumb fans that give the org credit over the QB as a primary example.

It's called a hell of a lot more than that, they don't have talent.
