This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. Post them all at once or in separate posts, but they must be posted in the current week's contest thread. Post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest.

Even though I'd hate to give myself a worst winning % than I have, I have to admit that my overall record is actually 56-61-4, not 54-51-4.

TCU +1 against BYU

Weeknight game with a ranked opponent favorite on the road. The situation screams "me so horny (frogs)"

Georgia Tech -2.5 at Clemson

Clemson's coach quit just after announcing he was replacing their starting QB. Expectations were high for this team and they do have talent, especially at RB. I just think this will be too much turmoil for kids to handle especially going against an unconventional offense.

Virginia +4.5 against North Carolina

UNC is coming off an emotional victory at ND that they should have lost. They are down to a 3rd string QB who, admittedly, played well last week. They lost their All America level wide reciever in the ND. Virginia, as seems to always be the case, is getting better as the season progresses. I see UNC coming out flat and the Wahoos winning this one straight up at home for my upset special of the week.

Pitt -3 at Navy

I know what you are saying, dolphin, you must be nuts to side with Wannie. I am. But this may be one of the few times this year that Navy is outrushed. Also Pitt has had 16 days to prepare for the Navy triple wing. I think part of Navy's success is that they are so different from every other offense on opponent's schedules that one week is not enough time to prepare. Well, 2.5 weeks should be.

Tennessee -8 at Kansas City

I think KC will be a team in turmoil this week after it's veteran, star and captain asked out and is now publicly pissed to still be with the team. Then the coach implies that the NFL should be looking to suspend his star RB because of a battery charge. It's not so much a distraction as something that steals the enthusiasm from the younger guys. Also Tennessee coming off a bye.

Browns +7 at Washington

It may be illogical but I am going to bet that the Browns of Week 6 are much closer to the real Browns than the Browns of Week 1-4. They came off a bye week on fire. Anderson and Edwards seemed to have regained their connection, they have a legitimate threat at the second wideout and Lewis is starting to get going again. If that offense has turned the corner there is no way they don't stay within 7. This one almost looks too easy.

Colts -1 at Packers

Colts are starting to role. This one is going to be a shootout (look at that 47 as a possiblity), and I don't think the Packers can keep up with the Colts under such circumstances.

I'll continue to give you my currently perfect free picks. Coming soon, you'll be able to get my premium picks on www.dontmatewithme.com.

Illinois -15 over Indiana
-Indiana is a trainwreck. Not only are they have problems performing on the field, but behind the coaches seemingly have lost the faith of the team. I think that Illinois bounces back in a big way after losing to a Minnesota team they had no business being that close to.

Ohio State -3.5 over MSU
-OSU wins the battle on the line of scrimmage and wins a close one vs. MSU. MSU is good, but they aren't at the level of OSU yet.

Texas -5.5 vs. Missouri
-Texas at home is too much for Chase Daniels as he sees his Heisman campaign take a hit for the second straight week.

A two for Thursday from Pinnacle sports

Florida State-11 vs N.C. State- If Florida State comes to play and cares about this game, they cover easily, if they don't care, they won't cover and may not win, I say they care.

BYU +1.5 vs TCU- If BYU wants any shot at the BCS, this is a must win and they way they are playing they should.

NC State +11 vs. Florida State
FSU's offense simply isn't good enough to be laying this kind of wood on the road. Their high scores recently have come mainly because of opponents' turnovers and sloppiness. If NC State doesn't give it away, they stay in this.

TCU -1
A team that beat Washington by one freaking point does not deserve to be talked about as a BCS bowl possibility. Being unbeaten with BYU's schedule is faint praise. Please frogs put us all out of that media misery.

TCU -1 should roll over an overhyped BYU squad.
NCST +11 TJ Graham has a big night.

Hawkeye Vince is back for more college action.

Oregon State -15.5 @ Washington AND Over 59.5: Ty Willingham should have his resume ready after the Beavers bring the smack down on the Huskies. Huskies give up 42 a game on D. (WIN, LOSS)

Florida Atlantic -2.5 @ Western Kentucky: Western kentucky hasn't beat a D1-A team this year. FAU beat UAB who is a similar team to WKy. Smith is due to explode. (WIN)

CSU @ Utah -22: Utah is tough to beat at home and is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games and 4-1 against csu in their last 5. (WIN)

Toledo +10 @ NIU: Toledo owns NIU over the last few years. I could see a letdown for the Rockets, but this game is always circled on their calendar. (LOSS)

From thegreek.com:

Miami, FL (-3) over Duke
Did anyone ever imagin that the Hurrican would only be favored by three against a Duke football team?

Vanderbilt (+14.5) against Georgia
A lot of points to give in a tight SEC battle

Washington State (+42) against USC
I don't care that it is against USC, six touchdowns is a lot to give to a conference foe.

New Orleans (+3) against Carolina
Hoping the anticipated return of Colston and Shockey ignites the Saints.

New York Jets (-3) over Oakland
Although Oakland is at home, they are just a bad football team.

Michigan State +3.5 vs. Ohio State
Don't want the points, don't need the points...but ok I'll take them for this "contest". If being routed by USC and barely beating a desultory Wisconsin team by 3 points doesn't tell you that this is not your normal OSU team, maybe losing in Spartyland will.

Georgia Tech-Clemson UNDER 38-1/2
Two teams whose defenses are better than their offenses. CLemson is such a mess, and while they might win, I don't expect it to be because of shocking results from a new coach, a new OC and a new QB.

UNLV +4 vs. Air Force
Back to back roadies for the Force, laying wood against a rested and improving Vegas bunch.

New York Giants -10.5
West coast teams cant win out East, last team that tried in Jersey was Seattle who got whooped by the G-men.

Chicago Bears -3
Vikings O is awful and they should have lost last week, Bears D get a whole lotta TO's.

Tampa Bay Bucaneers -10.5
Seahawks are awful out East and have gotten blown out both times they ventured to that time zone this year.
