This is why it's a terrible decision to take a QB towards the end of the first round, even if they ride the bench, their 5th year option gets expensive as hell

Shopko (stylized as SHOPKO, formerly stylized as ShopKo) was a chain of department stores based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. All locations closed on June 23, 2019, with the exception of the Shopko Optical locations, which continue to operate.

We had a Shopko out here, I really miss that store. It was nothing fancy but they had a little of everything, just a fun old-school department store.

McGinn predicts that, if Rodgers does insist on returning, he’ll be the backup to Love.

I agree that Rodgers is done playing for the Packers, but the idea that he’d back up Love is pretty ridiculous.

Would he retire? They may not be able to trade him.

Possibly. I see a trade as being the most likely scenario though. He might tell the Packers which team he’ll go to or threaten to retire. Jets still make the most sense.

 yeah no way that is happening. If he is with GB next year he will be the starter.

He doesn't have any leverage. He would not only leave money on the table by retiring, he would have to return signing bonus money to the Packers.

Rogers loves the drama.

He'll be back and starting. The most telling statement is that the Packers fully believe in Jordan Love. No they don't. They might want to see what they have in him, but they don't fully believe.

Dolphin and Nas are correct.
His contract was purposely set up where a) He got max / ridiculous money guaranteed b) The Packers in return were protected from him playing elsewhere.

Small chance he retires but I highly doubt that. There is zero chance he's playing anywhere besides Green Bay.

I'd say it's closer to 50/50. If Rodgers wants to be traded and there is a willing partner then he'll be gone. I think that's actually what Gute is hoping will happen.

They really fucked up by not trading him a year ago, they can still move him..just won't get back nearly as much. The Jets would love him..so would Tampa and Miami.

Nobody is trading for him because of the giant cap hit. He is either on GB's roster, or will retire. That's it. Its a mess up there and its awesome to finally see these fuckers fall apart.
