Fact is, the combine is going to come around, one of these QB's is going to blow minds, some GM is going to go off his rocker and make the Bears an amazing offer. Its going to happen, nobody needs to worry about it. I think the Panthers definitely have potential to want to play draft games.

does lack of qb consensus make it more likely a team will pace panic and move up. knowing every team could have a different draft board makes it harder to sit back and hope your guy falls.

This seems to be the most likely scenario because that gives you the most return, if you turn the #1 overall into 3-4 top 100 picks you could get 2-3 quality starting players for the next 5 years.

The only way to build this disaster of a roster is via the draft and having more early round picks increases the odds of hitting on guys that will build your roster.

The idea of having a top 5 pick next year when you have a true #1 WR like Marvin Harrison Jr. and a generational TE like Bowers makes the Raiders trade appealing, but Poles just has to wait and see who will be willing to pony up the most to move up.

Seeing Whitehair as a possible cut in some of the offseason stuff, meaning they would be replacing nearly the entire o line, could see them trading down, picking the top tackle, drafting a C in the 2nd/3rd and signing a FA guard and OT, you radically upgrade the talent on your Oline in one offseason.

No team that needs a Year 1 starter is taking him. Certainly not the Colts. He is purely a project for anyone who is looking for their starter in 2-3 years.

He's Justin Fields.

Teams think they can coach up these guys, but it's the guys like Mahomes that have the mental ability to instantly recognize the right read that win.

Just saw Sean Payton talk about how Mahomes had the best QB interview he had ever conducted, he had basically memorized the entire Saints playbook in a day and knew all the right adjustments and check downs.

The Bears had the wrong guy evaluating the position, that same guy is the guy that picked Fields.

Yeah, you have to look beyond the God given ability at times. I'm still baffled how anyone couldn't see that Mahomes was the full package.

The best approach to trading for picks is to only accept picks in the top 75 and try to include our picks after 103, in exchange for picks that move up a round in next years draft. Force the other team to load up on the back end of a weak draft while we get better in a strong draft.

So, if trading with Houston, include something like #150 this year for one of something like their rd 3 next year in addition to the more substantive part of the trade

How far have you gotten in the process? I think there are some good players after the first couple of rounds. There's some questions at WR, but I think this draft is deep with players who will play on Sundays.

Seems there will be some interesting guys that could fit needs and be day one starters next year at center (Schmitz/Avila), LB (Campbell/To'oto'o), or DT (Ika/Mazi Smith) in the 2nd/3rd rounds, that's why picking up an extra early round picks would go a long way toward roster building. You can get some depth guys in the later rounds, but this is a rare opportunity to pick up extra picks in the top 100 which seemingly is the plan.

He sucked. You probably saw him on some “who the fuck did that” snaps.

First of many changes for the worst defensive line in the NFL, there really was nobody on that unit that showed themselves to be worthy of a backup role.

This guy was one of the "knows Eberbflus and will help set the culture", guys they wanted to bring in from the Colts, think we can blow that up, you can wear your HITS t-shirt, but it doesn't matter how much you talk the talk if you are a DE getting pancaked by TE's regularly.

I'm with you. Load up with as many draft picks in the next two years as possible. If they miss out on Anderson, so be it.

I don’t completely agree with this.. potential impact players are more valuable than a handful of potential starter level guys. You get a chance at a game changer, I think it’s something that’s tough to pass on.

Have to wait and see what happens with free agency, that’s going to set the table for what the Bears do in the draft imo

I don't think they will be able to pull a #1 for next year unless they trade with the Colts or lower. If they trade with the Texans, maybe they get a second rounder this year, but that probably kills getting a future #1 from the Colts.

The Raiders #1 next year is the one that seems most attractive because it will likely be top ten and highly doubt Texans give you a #1 next year just to move up one spot.

Did not like giving Orlando Brown a ton of money, Payne is the guy you overpay for if he hits the market.

Think they attack the o line with second tier guys at tackle, a top FA at G, and draft a C and OT.

Fixing the D line is gonna require a ton of FA paper and maybe your top draft pick depending on how sweet the trade down pot is on draft day.

Looking as if Payne will be tagged, makes sense because those type of guys do not come along often, so now onto plan B, guys that are a bit older, but still will be productive for a few years.

Tons of highly speculative stuff about potentially acquiring a top DT or WR via a trade, does make sense given the cap space, but these seemingly would be difficult to pull off, do you want to give up much needed draft capital for Hopkins?

The quest for a true number one wide receiver and a difference making three tech DT will be difficult even with the tons of cap space and the #1 draft pick.

Should get a great WR with that second round pick, Bouette or Mims.
