At best, Clevinger appears to be a bit of a dumbass and quite the asshole. Not the first nor the last guy to fit this bill in Chicago sports. Far from it.

Lets hope no one posts something about the fans having no integrity if they continue to root for the Sox because they have a " bad" guy on the roster. That would be epically stupid and no Sox fan here fits THAT bill for sure.

I'm listening to a reporter on P&S named Ryan McGuffy who says the atmosphere is totally different this year...players are playing cards in the clubhouse again! Spiegel is running with that (so to speak) as evidence that things are different now.

It's basically the same group of players as last year--did Tony ban or discourage playing cards?

But none of that matters if you win, right? I'm sure you gave up on the Cubs in 2016 when a guy who fired a gun after an argument was closing games for your squad.

Regardless we know whatever happens with Clevinger, you and Caller Bob will be on top of it as usual. You guys are the go to for White Sox posts on the board here. Thank you for your service.

Boy, all you have to do is mention " stupid Sox fan " and look who comes running. None other than Frankie Pavlov.

The hosts are all running with that narrative. Tony was not a good manager, maybe the new guy is much better, but hopefully being healthy and not most players all underperform will also help the cause this season. The narrative has been set though. If they start hot, that's the story. If they don't, we're probably back to managers are overrated, don't matter and it's the players/organization who need overhauls.

If both the White Sox and Dodgers struggle out of the gate, Tim Anderson will be a Dodger by June 1. Gavin Lux hurt his knee enough to be ruled out for the season like three days after Andrus reluctantly signed with the White Sox.

When does Tim Anderson become a free agent?

It is hard to see the White Sox spending to keep him if he does have a strong year given that they have a top 100 prospect on the way and they don't spend the way others do.

Team option for next year, then FA.

$12mil this year, $14mil next year. If they were going to trade Timmay, the time to do so would have been this past offseason.

I think he restores some value with a typical first half this year.

I really like Anderson and I want him to be a Sox for life. I can see from a distance that he is going to want an outrageous value after this contract turned out favorable for the Sox and at 32 with Montgomery on the horizon, it will end badly.

Because outside of Hendriks he was their best reliever last season. He may have found a permanent home in the bullpen. For whatever reason, life as a reliever seems to suit him better.

I think that Anderson is going to expect the $25M/year which Swanson got, albeit maybe 4 years with an optional 5th instead of the 7 years Swanson received.

I'm not saying that I am right necessarily but who qualifies as a "leader or leaders" of the White Sox? And the same dead wood that they had last season is still with them. Moncada, Grandal, Garcia, Giolitto, and some 4A type outfielders are still with them. We have no "stars". Every position has question marks really.

I am just really disgusted by the result of the last two years and this current version of our heroes.

David Samson was on M & H talking Cleavinger and various baseball topics. Agree or disagree with him his style of discussion based on his experiences as being a MLB executive certainly contrast the Score hosts phoniness, being offended, lack of knowledge, and White Sox vendetta tiresome approach.

Spiegel talked about a new analysis from Baseball Savant today regarding the best and worst catchers at preventing wild pitches and passed balls. Over the last three years, out of 206 starters and backups:

Yan Gomes #4
Tucker Barnhart #15
Willson Contreras #167
Yasmani Grandal #200

Last 3 years Contreras' WAR is higher than all 3 combined.
