Thought I kind of covered all the bases when I posted this. Looks like wind might be the only part that hits.

Late brother? Jeff Skilling is still alive and back in business. I think you're mixing him up with Ken Lay.

Rain will quickly transition to snow late this afternoon into early evening across northern Illinois. with Heavy, wet snow accumulations are expected across northern Illinois, mainly north of I-80. The heaviest totals of 4 to 7 inches are expected near the Wisconsin border with amounts quickly tapering to little or no accumulation.
A mix of rain and snow is expected this afternoon and evening and north of Peoria line (snow will mix in north of I-74 and west of I-55) and south of the line will see just rain with a light chance of a flurry on the backside of the rain The heaviest snowfall this evening, with conditions slowly improving well after midnight tonight.

I'll believe it when I see it this time...

Phone buzzed me with a winter weather warning. Im just not seeing it. Id be surprised if we get any accumulation with how warm the ground is. Probably pushing my start of work season back a couple or three days though with the added moisture.

It's actually snowing, about 1/4 mile visibility right now I'd say looking south from the house. very light accumulation here as well.

Looks to be a couple or three inches on the grass and in the fields, little less on the driveway. Really wet snow, probably melted by noon, won't be firing up the trufuel tomorrow.

There is strong likelyhood of severe storms for some of the area today. First round will be early afternoon, then a second wave should/could come thru this evening.

It seems as the worst threat will be south and west of the main metro area, but all of us could see strong storms, high winds, and some hail. I think there will be a tornado or two near/west of I-39 with the potential for there being a pretty strong EF3+ tornado.

If your phone goes off with a weather warning later on today, take it seriously.

There is also a favorable set up for potentially another severe event late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. The current placement of the jet stream has us right in the bullseye for severe weather. This appears to the be setup for the forseeable future. The thunderstorm aspect of Spring has definitely arrived.

We are closely monitoring latest observations & incoming data, so far very little has changed in regards to our thinking. We expect conditions to become very favorable for severe t-storms, including potential for damaging tornadoes across northern IL, as early as mid afternoon. In addition to the tornado threat, damaging winds, possibly widespread & significant are expected across northern/central IL into northern IN into this evening. Now is the time to have a severe weather plan, storms will be moving very quickly today, be ready to act! #ilwx #inwx

Yikes. Its almost certain tornadoes will occur within that purple circle along the IL IA border.

We had a great thunderstorm here last night. Love them. I've thought about using one of those sleep apps or thunderstorms on a loop but too lazy to figure out which is good or how it would all work.

First tornado warning of the day southwest of Peoria. This supercell has been gaining strength all afternoon.
*Edit- now a confirmed tornado.

We are under a watch as well now
