I actually think the swap of picks was a pretty good throw-in. Now they can trade a 2nd and 13 to move up if they have somebody they’re targeting in the top 10.

Yeah, it's usually not cheap to move up even just 2 spots in the top 15.

If that ends up being the deal (or close to it). I will admit I was wrong and the Packers had more leverage. It's a good haul for the Packers and way better than I expected them to get...unless they are on the hook for sending a pile of cash over or taking a huge cap hit.

Aaron Rodgers is the only winner here, he no longer has to spend part of the year living in Wisconsin.

NO, PIG.

"A PLAYER THAT WAS NEVER GOING TO PLAY FOR THEM AGAIN"

I must have missed the news that Ryan Pace was named GM of the Jets.

Want or expect? I don’t think 2 1sts were ever on the table - especially if the 13th pick was one of them.

So the Packers didn't have all the leverage. I appreciate the clarification.

That’s what happens when you don’t have any leverage the week before the draft.

That goes without saying when you have an affair with another teams QB and expect them to just let him go because it was meant to be.

The Jets will make the playoffs and a SB run, solid team a QB away from being a legit contender. The Packers are fucked.

Woody Johnson didn't really give Joe Douglas much to work with at the negotiating table.

The nerds say we got two 1s in value and everyone else generally seems to agree GB did well. Good enough for me.

You (& Frank and Vegan) are on record as having said the Packers have no leverage. Clearly that wasn’t the case. Just take the L.

So lemme get this straight... the Packers gave up the only thing they had to be relevant in the league, got less than they asked for initially, but got rid of a guy who was the only reason they won games, will probably be dogshit for a couple years, and thats winning?

What's the win projection for these chumps this year?

I'll say 5-12

Opens up a window for Detroit this year, the Vikings are average, the Pack will be a bit below average, and the Bears are still at least a year away.

Seems highly unlikely that the Pack hit on a franchise QB again for a while, could the Bears actually have the best QB in the division in a few years?

Even then, you put the 2nd to 1st round pick based on making the NFC title game or even the Super Bowl instead of 65% of starts. Now, the Jets are going to go 8-9, barely miss the playoffs, and lose a first round pick.

This was all for a guy that no other team wanted.

Yep. Draft picks plus a 50 million+ salary for the 17th best QB. It's about as dumb as it gets.
