Last year it was all about LaRussa as opposed to the dude (Hahn) that put a shitty product on the field. He is by far the worst GM that the Sox have had in my lifetime.

Is your argument only Hahn should be fired? I don't see anyone saying he should keep his job.

Other than Nas I don't see anyone placing this on him. I don't see how it is a Kenny Williams issue unless Kenny picked either Hahn (which I also doubt) or the players on the field. Which I doubt. And I also don't see how this Reinsdorf's doing other than hiring Hahn. This team is Rick Hahn's team unless someone can show that he really didn't select the players on the field.

Yeah but why is it necessary to loop Kenny Williams into it if it isn't known what his role happens to be in Hahn's failures?

There’s a literal “fire Hahn” thread that’s several years old. Kenny has been vocal throughout Hahn’s tenure that he’s still ultimately signing off on what happens to the roster.

I’m not clear what the argument for Williams to stay would be at this point.

He was easily the person most blamed for the debacle last year. Even though it was clear that the roster construction of Rick Hahn sucked. On a great number of days there were 3-4 DHs in the lineup. How is that on Kenny Williams and Jerry Reinsdorf?

There are people even at this late date that are still quite comfortable with making excuses for Hahn. That's why even in a thread with his name in the title the focus is still mostly on Jerry Reinsdorf and Kenny Williams.

Kenny and Jerry have micromanaged Hahn from jump street. In hahns defense, I don't thinknhes made any real decisions. His face and demeanor at the Larussa press conference pretty much proved it. Larussa was forced on him. And I'm sure many personnel choices were demanded by those two. Hahn should be fired for being such a wanker, Kenny for being a bully who uses Hahn to insulate himself from criticism, and Jerry should just fuckin sell or croak.

In fairness to ltg, as a CTU member, its not possible for him to place any blame on someone who has "President" in their title.

It's sort of tough to garner "insight" from any thread in which Ballpark Frank is a "leading voice".

Hahn’s record looks nuts relative to the Williams regime. Crochet, Vaughn, Madrigal, Anderson, Rodon…
To be fair, he was drafting a lot higher because they were so shitty.
There is no need to defend KW. It's not too much to expect for the GM to hit on 20% of his draft picks.

Isn't it sort of obvious that these were considered Hahn picks when EVERYONE believed them to be good picks? Just Asking A Question

Jerry may be a great businessman, but he is a fucking joke as far as winning baseball goes.

Yet when he believed that Hahn was good at his job its clear from the statements below whom he deemed to be "culpable". Suddenly and quite noticeably, Kenny Williams had no "culpability" whatsoever.

There is clearly a different philosophy in the way of doing things now with the Sox front office. Its basically the complete opposite of what Kenny Williams did for the better part of 11 years. Given that and what Kenny himself has publically said, it leads me to believe that Hahn was NOT 100% in charge of the roster regardless of what his title was.

With what you have said in this thread, its pretty clear that you either do not understand that, or you are willfully ignoring things which would make BRick's comments about creating your own agenda correct.

Who are the multiple all stars drafted by Kenny or Hahn over the last 23 years? Sale and Anderson. Anybody else? Even anybody who was traded? Is there a worse record in MLB with any franchise?

You draft, you win. We don't draft and we haven't going on 33 years. Schueler, Williams, and Hahn. All unacceptable. Why would anybody trust Kenny and Jerry to pick a draft connoisseur? The last guy who could do it wasn't a "people person". It was more like he was a general manager and that can't be tolerated. Got to stay in your lane.

Quote:
Reinsdorf and Himes have feuded about the hiring of hitting instructor Walt Hriniak, the only coach hired directly by Reinsdorf and not under Himes' direction. Himes apparently has not been happy with the independent arrangement.

Sources said the rift between the two might have deepened beyond repair when the Oakland Athletics were able to claim former White Sox star _ and Reinsdorf favorite _ Harold Baines from the Texas Rangers last month.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.
