Leaving the other Green open isn't working.

Agreed. Game 3 was a nice change of pace for the Warriors to reset when he was suspended. He's so limited offensively.

I'm loving the energy of this series (Lakers/Warriors) just as I did with Warriors/Kings.

And it seems that the Lakers are going to concede the 3 point battle and make up the difference at the line. This has the feel of an old school game in some respects. Not guarding Draymond is definitely an 80's/90's strategy as well as the Lakers playing free throw down and attacking the rim. Warriors don't have any shot blocking so they might as well.

Really digging the chess match between the 2 coaches

If AD can play the entire second half all the time they can win this series. More likely he needs to sit a game at some point.

If he can play like he did tonight the rest of the way and LeBron doesn't settle for as many 3s and instead drives to get even more free throws, they can reach the finals.

I dunno, seems like Steph kinda rested and the whole team kinda rested on the defensive end until the 4th.

Then they wiped out a 14 point lead in 3 minutes. I could see the Lakers losing the next 4. This game played out perfectly for them and they still had to hold on for the win. AD'S back is a problem.

The Warrior slept walked through that game. It seems they don't really play until they are down in a series. A dangerous game to play. AD looked amazing last night. Going to be another fun series, hopefully a 7 gamer

There is no way I would bet free money on this series. You don't know who's showing up except Steph.

Disagree with the notion that G.S. sleepwalked. Lakers are the better team.LeBron James didn't play well offensively. AD tired in the 2nd half. G.S. shot 40% from 3. Damn good. Made 15 more 3's than the Lakers. Lakers. Still lost.

If anything the closeness of the game had more to do with the Lakers giving it away than G.S. deciding all of a sudden that they wanted to play.

Which makes it an intriguing watch, but still too close to bet on. The Warriors and their 13 Road wins suggest that.

Last 14 NBA playoff series where the home team lost game 1 they turned around and won game 2 at home...

Lakers might be well-advised to punt on game 2, sit AD and Lebron and let the bench mob handle things. If they go all out with AD and Lebron approaching 40 minutes to try to win game 2, good chance it ends with a loss still and then you have AD maybe back in street clothes due to the effort and Lebron dogging it more than he already appears to be going forward. They won't do that, but it might be the smarter way forward.

Oh yeah it's only a slight edge but i do think the Lakers are the better team though. G.S. has no one that can guard AD.

Agreed. Game 3 was a nice change of pace for the Warriors to reset when he was suspended. He's so limited offensively.

I'm loving the energy of this series (Lakers/Warriors) just as I did with Warriors/Kings.

the reason you can't do that long term is the Warriors will put Green into pick and roll with Curry/Thompson and if he seals the pick properly, open three pointers with Green then crashing the offensive glass free because the defender is fighting over the pick to get to the shooter.

I had the Lakers to get to the Finals at +1600. The only thing that can defeat them is age. I've been saying this all season.

If they stay healthy and AD continues to play long games, Denver won't handle them either. Lakers likely to lose game 2 in GS though. If they don't, this series is over.

that's the counter to Lakers laying off in game 2, either not playing AD/Lebron or playing them limited minutes--if somehow Lakers can win game 2, series possibly over? Although, again, if it takes herculean effort by AD/Lebron in game 2 (win or lose), what's the knock-on effects the rest of the series. Lakers could go all out, win game 2 and then find themselves without AD for a game or two and let the Warriors back in.

You gotta manage AD's minutes/playing time. Only way Lakers getting to the Finals. AD isn't suddenly gonna become Westbrook when it comes to durability.

Hard to gauge the series. Two lackluster efforts by the losing teams.

AD no-showed. Be nice if the Lakers could get him the ball.

Vanderbuilt will have to sit more for Dennis the menace. Need one more shooter on the floor.

You actually can because all you are asking the guard to do is fight over the pick. Its actually genius because its eliminates all of the switching and Draymond's rolls to the bucket. Make him a scorer and take your chances with that.

well, Steph wasn't a scorer in game 2 and the Lakers got skunked. If Green sets a good sealing screen, the guard has to knock him around to get to the shooter.

Lakers are favored in game three but I don't really understand why.

Make Green a scorer is what I clearly meant. Guarding Green and constantly switching bigs onto guards on picks is what's dumb and one of the biggest problems with how they play D in the league right now. And it's not like Draymond Green is Shaq size wise. You can get around the pick and the way the Lakers played D in game 1 made Kerr adjust his starting lineup for game 2 which means it must have worked.

Mark Jackson just said “this could be the ballgame right here” with AD shooting two free throws in a tie game with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

The way the Lakers closed the half after that indicates that he might be right

Yep. It was 42-42 at that point and it’s been all lakers since.

Playing Lonnie Walker instead of Tony Brown was a subtle little adjustment by Ham. Lonnie Walker can play.

I think the Lakers are going to win this. Diverse offense and a surprisingly really really solid defense. Couple that with a little math that they haven't lost a home game since March and GS is a little rocky on the road. I dismissed the road record theory last series, but we just saw a below average shooting night from Steph, and not another single guy could step up. SAC wore this team down and the Lakers are benefitting from it and continuing it. Might be over in 5, 6 for sure.

This coupled with the fact that the best players in the series are on the Lakers, makes it tough on G.S.

Teams quitting in the third quarters when they think they see the writing on the wall and then calling it (or the friendly media) preserving energy for the next game is getting disappointing.
