It's clear to me how important having Anderson at the top of their line-up and on the field means to the Sox. He made a play yesterday which was a perfect example. Late in game there was a little flair over in short center field that he ran and caught with his back to the infield. Roberts got a late read on the ball and a late jump and I doubt he would have caught it. I don't think that many short-stops in baseball would have taken charge and caught that ball. It wasn't a great play but it was certainly a good professional play. He is clearly the leader of this team.Maybe not a perfect one but he does not deserve the lack of respect he gets from some people.

I just noticed Giolito was pitching. The Sox OPS doesn't matter. This is the perfect game for Lucas to crap down his pantleg. On the verge of sweeping the first place team, at home, coming off a long skid....his line will be something like 5ip 5 R, 4 ER, 6K, 3BB.

And he'll be praised for a "gutsy" performance by the media.

I'd love to be wrong had see him have his no hit stuff, but I don't think that will be the case.

He wasn't starting so he prepared himself mentally not to play at all. He was the center of three key moments and didn't just not get the job done, he was terrible in all three.
