Has it occurred to you that players don't acknowledge you because they have no idea who you are? He admits refs recognize him but players ignore him. Totally unaware that age difference is probably the driving factor and instead jumps straight to race

The best there ever was, he had the biggest balls of anyone in the business and a decade ago or so he decided he wanted to be liked by the people he despised.

What a fall off. That said, again the King of all media and best ever. Appointment radio back in 80s and 90s.

Stern ended himself with his COVID hysteria. He's just a washed up nobody who is terrified of life.

did you ever see this clip? Gary’s son comes home from college during covid and goes in and gives Gary a hug while they’re on a zoom call doing the show, and Howard starts freaking out and chastising him about the fact that he came home and hugged his dad without a mask on ? If I were Gary, I would’ve told Howard to go fuck himself right then and there, just because youre frightened of life doesnt mean everyone is . Fucking jagoff.

MANY in this thread have become the biggest snowflakes in the world, but they still find time to criticize Stern. You can't make this stuff up.

Dahl was better. Sorry Regular Reader.

I was a loyal listener of Stern before satellite. I just didn't make the switch and what was a habit became irrelevant. We now have it on one of our cars but the show just does not have the surrounding talent it once did.

I'll still listen to shows from the jackie or artie era on youtube once in a while.

he ended himself with marci turk. he was always paranoid about getting sick. i remember when a guest came in that had whooping cough and he freaked out like a little girl, and that was well over a decade ago...maybe even more than 2.

stern's major flaw is allowing completely humorless dullards like chris wilding and john blitt take over the comedy. benji, richard, and sal drove the show's humor. the show started falling apart for good after artie was gone.

i don't even mind that stern works like 8 days a month anymore, he's almost 70. i just want it to be funny.

and i really, really miss jay thomas. his friday shows on 101 were like a cold beer on a hot day.

Except for the Dahl part, we're in lockstep.

I get satellite radio ever so often and have always flipped through and listened to Howard 101 - The Best Of. I will say there wasn't much better radio than Stern, Matthews, and Dahl back in the day. I've noticed a few trends with Howard.
Howard 101 plays his terrestrial radio hits less often than they used to.
They seem to be focusing on Ronnie who has never been funny.
They focus less on when Howard was edgy and not very PC.
His new shows sucks when they actually tape new shows. He doesn't dig as deep or ask the qustions he used to. He was a great interview when he pushed the limits. Now not so much.
The only reason my kids know who Stern is because I play some of his funny old shit and it is on less frequent. Strippers and retards are radio gold if done right and he did it right. I am pretty sure these players parents never listened to Stern and the players have absolutely no reason to tune into him because he is completely irrelevant today.

Aside from here I don't think that I've had 5-6 conversations about Stern even though I was a dedicated listener. And those conversations were at least 20 years ago. Afaik, he's never had a sizable Black audience. Why he thinks most young Black athletes would recognize him is laughable. He's got to let the ego go.

Why are you attempting to defend a has been loser who stole his whole act from Dahl in the first place?

I believe Stern even admitted stealing from Dahl. Stern took the bits to another level. Dahl was horrible doing tv accept his morning tv show from Joliet had its moments.
Some select current Stern is listenable even with dry sidekicks. Dahl now is painfully boring to listen to with horrendous sidekicks and his slowed down long pauses speech.

Their Sternthology/Wrap-Up Show lead, Rahsaan, is a huge apologist. But he also tires to couch anything Stern does in his “craziness” or whatever. He has a rivalry with King of All Blacks that’s about as entertaining as gout.

 Yeah the snowflakes werent the ones chastising a college age kid for hugging his father , lived in their basements for 2 years because they were afraid of catching a cold and wanted hospitals to ban unvaxxed people.

Stern, who turns 70 this week, said he had never felt that sick before and credited being vaccinated for not making him feel worse.

  When will people admit that the vaccine makes it much more likely to contract virus? My guess is never. They'll be lying in the hospital thanking Pfizer as their immune system fails.

4 years is a pretty good run for not getting the virus.

When you can afford to lock yourself in your home for those 4 years and have people who have to go to work everyday bring you the shit you need to keep living, its actually pretty easy.

Yeah, he's lived like the Boy in the Plastic Bubble since he heard there was a novel virus on the loose and he STILL caught it. There are viruses in life, baby.

And what did he learn by locking himself in his house for 4 years to avoid catching a cold but still catching it ??

“It’s time to go back down into lockdown,” said Stern. “I’m just emerging and now I’m going back into lockdown.”

I'm just saying that "The vaccine makes it far more likely to contract virus" in regards to a guy getting it for the first time 4 years later really isn't a good argument.
