Teams quitting in the third quarters when they think they see the writing on the wall and then calling it (or the friendly media) preserving energy for the next game is getting disappointing.

Mike Breen did it last night and Van Gundy called him on it. I think Kerr pulled his guys early in the 4th last night when they were down 26. I see both sides of it actually. Don't think G.S. was going to comeback the way the game going.
On one hand you'd want your team to compete harder but on the other what's the point if the game is already over. Aside from the "Preserving energy" is the possibility that one of your core guys can get injured and if that happens the season is over anyway and your coach gets blasted for continuing to play the starters even when the team has no chance of winning.

What a performance from James Harden. It's fun to see him be James Harden. They've got to get back on defense though.

And now we see what changes the Nuggets are going to make to mitigate what Devin Booker is doing right now. Only problem is Kevin Durant is also on the team. CP3 might be able to play on Tuesday for Game 5. It'll be 8 days since the injury.

That was a survival, not really a win. Gotta protect leads better than that.

Yeah but the refs didn't do them any favors either. The charge on Embiid was bogus and the pushoff they allowed for Tatum on that 3 was criminal. They still did not fold. Maxey is hurting them currently. Shot selection is terrible and he really is just a one dimensional player when you really get down to it.

i was really starting to like maxey until now, too. yeah, and that charge call sucked. still, they had a big lead before that happened they needed to protect better. their defense is really bad.

Mostly Harden but they already knew that. Boston was targeting the hell out of him. I'm actually more concerned about the offense. Harden or and Embiid have to have monster games each game or they have no chance of winning. And every half court set eventually becomes nothing other than those 2 going 1 on 1 in order to score.

In the 4th quarter the Lakers are targeting Steph Curry on every single possession on offense.

Lakers scrubs play w more poise than Warriors scrubs.

That’s the difference.

Klay needs to stop shooting when it’s not his night.

Warriors done.

How many years left on the Jordan Poole deal? 10 minutes 0-4 / 0-2. 2 TO to balance out 2 assists and a PF....Poole gets in the game and like immediately looks to foul someone so they'll take him back out?

Can't count out the Warriors completely, at least not against a team whose best player's nickname is "street clothes". If the Warriors can keep extending the series and maybe AD ends up the highest paid fan in the arena for a game 7. As well as the Lakers bench mob played tonight, that's partially or even largely due to the gravitational pull of AD on the defense and to a lesser extent Lebron.

But, yeah, series is in all likelihood over next game or game 6 at the latest. If the Warriors in fact get bounced in the next game or two, wonder if it'll be the last of Green/Klay/Steph together in GS. Feels like the Warriors front-office believed their own press too much and thought guys they drafted or recruited in free agency had to be good because, hey, we picked them.

The Lakers found their closer. Walker channeled his inner Mamba. Can they win 1 more?

Steph and Klay are gassed. All the help they had last year just isn't there this year.

I'd play Looney next game 40 minutes. Why not? Nothing else is working.

Another winning subtle adjustment is bored members replying to and congratulating themselves.

No clue why Kerr went away from the high pick and roll with Steph and the guy being guarded by AD. It was working perfect.

Klay definitely took a few bad shots late in the 4th.

I think it had more to do with adjustment Ham made in putting AD on Wiggins. They had AD drop on Wiggins and dared him to shoot just like they did with Draymond.

They can't shoot, plain and simple. They are shooting 27% from 3 in the series.

I've heard the Draymond Green for Zion Williamson trade this off-season mentioned by other commentators...so it's something in the nba ether:

Image

I think Green has a player option for next season? So it'd either be a sign/extend and trade or opt-in and trade with Green signaling to the Pelicans he'd extend with them--if they even wanted him extended. Maybe 1 season of Draymond's antics is more than enough for any team at this point.

High-risk move for the Warriors--give up that much for a guy who so far hasn't been able to stay on the court. But there's a chance Green doesn't opt in and walks anyhow....although I highly doubt Draymond voluntarily stops being Steph's teammate--unless it's to go play with Green's man-crush Lebron.

For a minute there was talk that Bob Myers might end up taking Pelinka's job with the Lakers...but Pelinka no doubt safe after his mid-season trades this year worked out so well.

Doesn't look like chris paul will ever get a ring, which is sad, but pretty hilarious durant isn't getting one this year either. Durant was dumb. as. shit. to ever leave steph curry. they would have had 8 fucking rings by now.

Nuggets might end up regretting taking their foot off the gas at the end of the regular season.

Denver probably not getting passed a healthy Lakers team in the WCF. But if the Nuggets make it to the Finals and it's against the Sixers, Sixers own home court by 1 win.

I can't see the Suns losing at home tomorrow. I can see them losing in Denver Sunday though, of course. Paul should be back by then. They were up by 7 when he went down in the 2nd half in Game 2.

Chris Paul will play seven minutes before needing to be shut down for maintenance.
