They don't do it by birth year like here?

The 8th grade graduation dance at my jr. high school was fantastic because all the cute girls in the class unleashed themselves on the boys. It was glorious. The actual graduation ceremony was tedious and pointless.

My 8th grade graduation was celebrated by those who had known each other long enough to give a damn. I was only in that school for a month and was just trying to just get through a day. The only graduation that felt good was HS. Finally felt the closest to having a home by then and actually got invited to a few parties.

Parent sharing pictures of 8th grade graduation with an announcement her son is going to repeat 8th grade at a different school so he can get bigger for high school athletics. Not the first kid to "red shirt" in junior high, just the first I have seen with the announcement accompanied by 8th grade graduation pictures.

That reminds me of a big fat kid in middle school. He was at least mildly retarded and had serious behavioral issues. I was in 6th and he played with my older brother who was in 8th. When I was in 8th we played a middle school in San Pedro and there was Luther still in 8th grade.

It sounds like they just want everyone to know their kid isn't slow they're holding him back for athletic reasons. I couldn't imagine doing that with my kids who both started varsity football and baseball junior year. They wouldn't have liked that and there is no way mom would go for that.
