Pretty cool story.

Re-establishes the US as the end of career destination for these guys. Saudis would’ve dumped mid-nine figures on Messi but guys are realizing that sitting in a shiny fort in the middle of the desert with no alcohol sucks.

Completely changed the way the game was viewed in the US.

Shook up the entire sports hierarchy. I think you can draw a direct line from that move to World Cup soccer overtaking college tennis as America’s 12th favorite sport.

Pele, Chinaglia, Beckham. Eight months later no one will care. Until the Freddie Adus and the young kid playing in Europe build a grass roots base, it's not going to catch on here imho.

Pickleball overtook soccer this year as the fastest growing sport. They had to respond.

Does this mean Meghan Rapinoe gets $400 million to keep equal pay?

We need a new American sport to overtake soccer and baseball.

Both soccer and hockey have a turnover problem. The ball(puck) gets turned over hundreds of times. Possession is key to Americans, even in court, where possession is 9/10ths of the law.

I think there is some dispute about it being a sport. American Cornhole Association says it is but everyone else seems to disagree. My Amish guys used to play the hell out of washers which is kind of like cornhole. They'd finish up around 11:30 or noon then play washers for an hour. I bought a nice cornhole set at the Raiders store but its still in the box. I'll unbox when McDaniels is launched...so probably October.

Supposedly turned down $1.6bn from the saudis.

That makes him twice as valuable as Tiger and sets him up for twice the disappointment when PIF buys MLS outright.
