So he's a pedestrian hitter. Couple that with the fact that he's defensively a liability behind the plate.

I'll go ahead and continue thinking he sucks.

Continue with that simple thinking and ignore you have got zero production out of first base, second base, short stop, left field(Your big ticket signing!!!) and right field.

Shout out to the pitch framing crowd.

He's been involved in 20 PB/WP incidents so far and it's only June.

I have zero interest in the WAR of a bum like Grandal. Imagine every asshole you ever worked with who you dreaded seeing as you were driving to work each day. Now put all those guys on a baseball team. That's the 2023 White Sox.

I don't expect them to blow this team up other than moving upcoming free agents and there's no reason to expect that this team will go on any kind of meaningful run prior to the trade deadline.

I would like them to resign Giolito, but that's extremely unlikely to happen so they will use him to add some cost control with 1-2 players that can contribute next season. I would expect one starting pitcher option who they view as a starting rotation piece for next season with Cease, Kopech, and Crochet (assuming health). There's probably a window for Lynn to return on a more team friendly deal if he improves in the 2nd half of the season.

This feels very messy given the team's unwillingness to spend more and the poor minor league system. If they can land 3-4 potential MLB candidates (maybe 1 or 2 more regarded prospects from a Giolito trade with a reliever given the needs for a proven starting pitcher) that will help with creating a roster next season. Oscar Colas will probably be given another shot in RF so the OF will likely be set, but there needs to be major changes offensively with the lack of production/dependability from the roster.

They need to determine how much they want to rely on non-performance, key players like Moncada, Jimnenez and Anderson while also filling holes at C, 2B, and RF and adding 2-3 more pitchers.

What a mess.

It's White Sox culture to trade a player who has a semblance of knowing what he's doing for a couple prospects who will be developed into players with no semblance of knowing what they are doing.

To my knowledge, there really hasn't been any meaningful conversations between the White Sox and Giolito. I don't think there's any chance the White Sox would give him anything beyond 4 years so there's really little motivation for him to resign before he hits free agency when he may even get up to 6 years if he finishes the year strong.

Given that trading him is the most likely scenario at this point, just have to hope a team is willing to give up 2 legitimate prospects from their system for him.

Frustrating that the rebuild has fizzled to this point where they are now back to being a bottom 5 team.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of these white sox on the trade block get traded to the cubs. Hahn seems to love trading with the Cubs.

Ace of the staff thinks a team supposedly built for winning world series playing .500 baseball is “playing well” . I guess those losses in April do count after all

he's right. they have been playing good. sometimes real good. but it's like it's one big setback that happens which makes them go backwards when they should be going forward.

Publicly, he has said how much he appreciates the White Sox organization. I think he would stay if the White Sox offered what he considered to be a fair market deal (which is probably why he won't be here).

"Everyone knows this is my potential last year with the White Sox," Giolito said. "I feel like I owe so much to this organization. I've done a lot for this organization as well. And I just want to see us come together and have a good run here.

"I'd love to stay. I want to be here, man. I love Chicago. I love the Sox. I want us to put it together, man. I really do."

Out of the 6 PAs by the Angels 7, 8, and 9 hitters, Kopech walked them 4 times. Cease says, "none of them scored, that's how good we are". Kopech 4 innings, 102 pitches.

The Ligue's made one major mistake. They should have attacked the Sox coaches. We should get them back to the park and let them run on the field and pour beers over the heads Grifol and Anderson.

Garbage is too nice of a word for this team.

I got home just in time to watch that inning. It was a classic White Sox failure . a lower end of the of the Sox line-up that doesn't hit as well as an average high school player. its been many years since the White Sox had a good line-up of starters and bench players. Look at the end of that game. None of them could even hit their weight let alone had it in them to hit in the clutch. PATHETIC LINE-UP, particularly the bottom of the line-up and the bench.

nm they found a way to lose.

If there's a metric for pitcher efficiency, Kopech has to be near the bottom of the league. He's obviously talented and still able to hold his own vs. most teams, but it's hard to see him as more than a #3 type starter if he can't pitch longer into games, even with his stuff.

They are basically playing a RF, 2B, SS and C most days who aren't hitting, not to mention guys like Burger/Sheets/Vaughn are usually also not hitting.

They are basically counting on Robert, Benintendi and Jimenez to carry the lineup every day.

Grandall probably also needs to be in the lineup as DH/C most days also and that's not exactly a vote of confidence in him as much as the rest of the team sucks.

There's no help coming either unless regression to the mean happens for a guy like Elvis in the 2nd half or Anderson rebounds.

White Sox with the gay Sox logo and a confusing photo. Are they actually selling these jerseys? Why the autograph? What's the meaning of this tweet?

i hate to say it but you are really right in the whole. I can't blame everything on Hahn, a lot of it goes to awful bad luck in regard to injuries and lack of hustle and intelligent play on the part of the players and coaching and managerial failures by the three managers and coaching staffs over the last 5 years at least. Most of it is all on Reinny's failure to spend money and in Williams and Hahn's failure to draft and trade for good for left field, right field, catcher, 3rd base, and second base. I have to believe that this decision was made by Reinny and not Hahn.

The truth is that for years now, the bottom half of the White Sox order has been horsehit for a lot of years including this one. Bases loaded last night in the 9th inning and the winning run on first and look at the guys at the bottom of the order. the next guys in the line-up might have had an under .200 over-all BA and worse number of rbis. This has gone on now for the last five years at least. this is not a major league organization from the top down.
