College Saturday from pinnacle sports

Northwestern and Indiana over 52. 5- Northwestern has a team that could do this by themselves, but Northwestern will give IU 17 and Northwestern gets over 45.

Boston College +2.5 vs North Carolina- North Carolina coming off a tough loss and the injuries may be catching up to them, and Boston College is coming off a big win against Virginia Tech.

Georgia +1 vs LSU- If Georgia wins this one gets back in the national title talk, and how good is LSU, when the Auburn win doesn't look good and Florida put up 51 on them.

Penn State -2 vs Ohio State- I think Penn State is on the national title run and keep it going by beating the Buckeyes convincing.

Oddsamaker or SBG

NC State +12 over Maryland

Dog is 17-5 in this series. Maryland's shutout of WF last week makes this line about 4 pts higher than it would have been last week. Maryland did lose to Virgina 31-0 two weeks ago.

Kentucky +25.5 over Florida

Kentucky has covered 5 of the last 6 vs Fla, the only miss last year by a pt. Florida had LSU last week and Georgia next week. Gotta think Florida doesn't cover this number.

Bowling Green +7.5 over NIU

Was all over NIU last week. Gonna go the other way this week. That was the perfect setup for NIU last week. Visitor has covered all 7 BG games this year.

Rutgers +10 over Pitt

Visitor has covered 8 of 11. Dog has covered 19 of last 23 Pitt games. Go against Wannie laying 10.

San Diego St +9.5 over Colorado St

I don't think either team is very good so will take the home dog. Colorado St 1-10 as a road fav.

Michigan +4 over Mich St

Michigan got it done as a home dog vs Wisconsin. I think Mich St thought they would play alot better vs Ohio St last week. I think Michigan wins SU.

Penn St -2 over Ohio St

Penn St has covered every game but one and that missed by a 1.5. Ohio St still hasn't covered at home this year. The home team covered 9 straight until Ohio St covered at Penn St last year as a 3 pt fav. Penn St returns the favor this year.

Week 9 Top 25 Rundown

Oklahoma State @ Texas -11 1/2

Texas has won 10 straight meetings to improve to 20-2 in the all-time series. Longhorns RB Ogbonnaya has maxiumum upside potential. Texas by two TD's.

Alabama -4 1/2 @ Tennessee

Vols bad QB can't do play action from ten points down. The Tide has been outscored 78-55 after the intermission. Alabama's 14th-ranked defense will be without 6-foot-5, 365-pound nose guard Terrence Cody (knee). The total is 39. lowest on the board.

Penn State -2 @ Ohio State

The Nittany Lions look to snap a 10-game road losing streak against ranked opponents and beat OSU in Columbus for the first time since 1978. The Buckeyes have won 12 of their last 13 conference home games against ranked opponents.

Oklahoma -17 1/2 @ Kansas State

Kansas State is averaging 23.3 points in their three losses compared to 50.8 in four wins. OU QB Bradford faces a Wildcats defense that's ranked 93rd in pass defense. Ouch. The total is 70 1/2.

USC -15 @ Arizona

The Trojans have outscored their opponents 141-10 since falling to Oregon State. The Wildcats are riding high after taking out Cal last week. USC has won six straight over Arizona.

Georgia @ LSU -1

Home field advantage. Why does this feel like the push of the week?

Texas Tech Pick @ Kansas

Tech leads the nation in passing while the Jayhawks are 99th in pass defense. KU has lost nine of its 10 all-time meetings with the Red Raiders. The total is 67 1/2. KU has no running game. The Jayhawks, who haven't suffered back-to-back defeats since a four-game skid Sept. 30-Oct. 21, 2006. Most likely won't push.

Kentucky @ Florida -25

The Gators, who are coming off a bye week, have won 21 straight against the Wildcats. Kentucky, which is 3-24 in this series when the Gators are ranked. Kentucky has the 95th ranked offense.

Wyoming @ TCU -30 1/2

That shouldn't be much of a problem for the Horned Frogs as they own the nation's top-ranked defense and the Cowboys are last in scoring 9 per game. The total is 40 1/2. Yikes.

Colorado @ Missouri -24

Missouri looks to end a two-game skid as it hosts Colorado. The Tigers still control their destiny in the Big 12 North, but will likely need to be perfect to reach the conference title game. Buffs have 94th ranked offense.

South Florida @ Louisville +3 1/2

The Big East's top two offenses meet in Louisville as the Cardinals host South Florida. However, defensive back and Danny Verpaele and linebacker Lucas Darr will miss Saturday's game due to undisclosed injuries that South Florida coach Jim Leavitt indicated "could be long term."

Rutgers @ Pittsburgh -9 1/2

Pittsburgh is looking for its first six-game run since Oct. 8-Nov. 12, 1983. Rutgers has no offense to speak of. The Scarlet Knights will be facing their first ranked opponent of the season. They went 1-3 versus Top 25 teams in 2007.

Virginia +14 @ Georgia Tech

After stumbling out of the gate, Virginia has turned its season around by winning three straight. Georgia Tech has been on a roll of its own, capturing four straight. GT grinds the clock and lets Virginia stick around.

Eastern Michigan @ Ball State -25

Undefeated Ball State scoring 37 pionts a game, tries to keep its feel-good story going when it hosts Eastern Michigan. The Cardinals are led by QB Nate Davis, the nation's 9th-leading passer.

UNLV (3-4, 0-3 MWC)
(21) Brigham Young (6-1, 2-1 MWC)

(22) Northwestern (6-1, 2-1 Big Ten)
Indiana (2-5, 0-4 Big Ten)

(24) Minnesota (6-1, 2-1 Big Ten)
Purdue (2-5, 0-3 Big Ten)

Virginia Tech (5-2, 2-1 ACC)
(25) Florida St (5-1, 2-1 ACC)

Sunday, October 26, 2008

UCF (2-4, 1-1 C-USA)
(19) Tulsa (7-0, 4-0 C-USA)

From The Greek

NCAA

Northwestern -8 @ Indiana

Cats continue to roll over a poor IU team.

Baylor +13 @ Nebraska

Huskers have a difficult time at home with the Bears.

Notre Dame -10 @ Washington

Irish come off their bye week fired up to play Willingham and the Huskies.

NFL

Chargers -3 vs Saints

With no Bush or Shockey, Chargers should cover and win this one overseas.

Jags -7 vs Browns

Jacksonville is rested and will beat a bad Browns team big at home.

Lions +7 1/2 vs Redskins

The hook helps make the Lions the pick.

Can anyone stop either one of these teams?

Arizona +15 vs. USC
Hate to go the other way from Don here, but USC might just be fat and happy after knocking over a Paloose in a walker last week. Bigfan's Wildcats have shown their mettle, the latest being their win over Cal last week. The desert swarm returns?

KSU really sucks on offense.

Defense too. I'll nominate this for worst pick of the year. OU scored 55. And K State scored 28. That makes 83. IN THE FIRST HALF.

Kentucky's down 62-3. My thought process of looking past Kentucky for next week isn't looking so good either.

This will be another bad week for Eli.

Nas tries to lay the hex on Eli again. Sports fans, this pick has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Nas's fantasy team is facing the Coasters, with Eli at QB, this week.

"Sideways rain" expected at game time and the London field was a mud mess last year when they played the NFL game there. I have a feeling that if the weather forecast plays out, this one will be a few points lower by game time.

NFL Sunday from Pinnacle Sports

Buccanneers +1 vs Cowboys- COuld be a trap with all the Cowboys troubles, but the Bucs have a good defense and Garcia controls the offense.

Jaguars -7 vs Browns- I think the Jaguars see the playoffs and not the division, the Browns have issues, this could be Brady Quinn start of his career, because Anderson will get hit hard.

Bills -1 vs Dolphins- The Dolphins had chance to make a season, but lost last week, but the Bills are on nice run, should be about 20-13 or 23-16.

Miami-Buffalo OVER 42
My model makes this 45. I'll take three points of value in a total.

Atlanta-Philly OVER 45
My model makes this 48. Ditto.

NY Giants-Pittsburgh UNDER 42
Could be a real grinder with the defenses ruling.

Week 9 Sunday CFB

UCF @ Tulsa -23 (68)

While Tulsa is coming off its best offensive performance in decades, UCF had a horrible game on the offensive side of the ball in last Saturday's 20-14 loss to Miami. The Knights managed 78 yards on 64 plays and were forced to punt a school-record 12 times. They were held to four rushing yards on 27 attempts.

Tulsa is first in points scored. Fiddy! Pluse! UCF is near last 17.7 / 114th, but expect them to get ten kickoffs. Look for the Knights to put up 18 at least. A win over a Top 25 opponent might earn the Knights some respect, as they've lost 18 straight against ranked opponents since becoming a Division I program in 1996. Take the over.

Oddsmaker or SBG

Kansas City +14 over NYJets

Double digit dogs keep getting the money every week. I will take the 14 against a team who had a rough OT game last week.

Under 45 Atl/Phil

Atlanta O not as good on the road. Both D's should be fresh coming off bye weeks.

Over 43 Az/Car

Carolina O has put up 30+ their last 2 home games. Arizona should be able to reach the 20's so over it is.

Cleveland +7 over Jax

Dog has covered every Jax game this year. Biggest margin of victory so far in a Jax game this year has been 7 pts. Cleveland has covered 3 straight.

Looks like it will be wet and muddy in Wembley, UNDER 46 is still out there if you want to play a bad field under...

-----
Posted by ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas (6:05 am Sunday morning Chicago time)

LONDON, England -- Generally, we leave fantasy football advice to our other experts, but this information may be crucial and go beyond just the fantasy aspect.

I just came back from a morning run (happily wearing my Penn State sweatshirt) and got soaked. It's raining pretty steadily out there. Local television said it rained through much of the night and is expected to continue just about all day.

The bottom line is Wembley Stadium probably will be a mud bowl, much like it was for last year's game between the Dolphins and Giants. If you have Saints or Chargers on your fantasy teams, you might want to take a second look at your starting lineup because it's going to be tough for these guys to put up big numbers today.

From a gambler living in London...
I'm about 5 miles from there. It's grey, wet, and cold. The wind isn't currently blowing but it will definitely not get any better through the evening. It will stay wet and may start blowing. If I had to guess, I'd assume that the field will end up just as bad as last year as they have almost certainly done nothing special with the field.
