The Cubs have the opportunity to extend their 3 game win streak, with a 2 game set VS the White Sux. With a 2 run homer by Swanson after an error by Jackie Robinson and then a solo homer by Morel, the series is off to a good start. Kyle Hendricks has struggled in the band box on the wrong side of town, so it's no sure thing.

Cubs ending trade deadline with 24th(2), 26th, 27th overall MLB record teams. Then the 8 teams in the wild card hunt 7 or less back all have losing records last 10 games (except Cubs 6-4). Playoff contention at trade deadline seems to have been handed to them on a silver platter.

Still, far from sure that the Cubs will retain Stroman and Bellinger.

You still playing softball?

Hey GD! TheCubs/Sox series motivated me to check in. No more softball. Lots of golf these days. Played a couple nice courses in Houston in May when I went to see the Cubs play the Astros there ( and get swept) and got to play Spyglass and Pebble Beach at the end of May. Playing Torrey Pines September 1st. Been a fun year. Now if the Cubs can win their division, it would be even better!
