It was nice to see Dr. Ken, have him not acknowledge my hello and then just as I was going to buy him a beer, disappear into the night.

Sorry Hoffy. It was too loud to yell to the other end of that banquet table and everybody started showing up just as I had to leave.

As I was running for my life, I mean leaving, it struck me that I should have stopped to talk a bit more but the kids were waiting for me to get home.

Just to make it up to you, though, you can buy me two beers next time.

What did you guys think of the venue? I didn't care for it too much. Having the fellas on the stage kind of put them out of touch as they rarely came down to interact with the crowd. I much preferred Champps where they were able to get out and interact a little more.

Although, it was cool of them to set aside a table for us.

Thoughts?

They came down a few times. They all came down after the show, which was cool. It was too dark in there. It felt like we were at a rock concert instead of an MJH event. It was a little hard to hear them from where we were too. It was still fun though.

I like the old place better too. It had character. The new place feels like every other bar out there.

i was suprised with the price of beer there. Hoffy said that the sam's were only $3, most places charge at least 5 or 6.

I miss the dive and the good bands the used to get out there.

my parents met at the old durty nellies...mushroomhead just played there on thursday.
button 48

still bummed i coudn't manage to get out there. sounded like it was a good time.
it's always difficult to hear them at remotes once it gets past 4:30. the crowd shows up and drowns them out.

$3 wow. I was drinking Honkers Harvest Ale and they were $4.50. Should have gone with the Sam's.

I liked that the old place had their main stage area along with a couple of smaller rooms where other groups would play as well, and the beer garden was always a good time. The new place just feels to sterilized.

Bud bottles were 2 bucks, and those big aluminum ones were 4. I thought that was a good deal

Was glad I got to buy M_C a beer as well.

it was tough for me to come but I am SO GLAD I did. Great turnout. Zack strikes out with two hotties, Spaulding looks stunning, everything is as it should be :). Great meeting Rodeo and Eaglo Jeff for the first time and obviously seeing everyone else, and sorry Frank B, the beard threw me a curveball. The old Durty Nellie's was so awesome and I miss it too (although it reminds me days of living in the burbs....no offense :)

Oh and I learned who Andy Rooney was

Thanks for everyone's support!!

Because I am a cheap ass, I stuck with the bud select for 2 bucks, not bad, I am more of a molson ice & MGD guy. I will say this, anytime they have a remote at DN, I am there, take the train and walk right in, cant work out any better, unless of course you miss the train like I did  strolling in the house at 9:20 was met with a certain chill since I was suppose to BBQ, but it was worth it.

It was great meeting Adam, Grid, Frank and everyone else, the remote was much better then any score event I have been too.

I am definatly going to get a sitter next time they are there. Same for me taking the train there and then home. It was nice to put a face to a name. and I do have to say Dr. Ken does really look like his picture....Excellent. And don't let the dress fool you I am really not that classy dressing type, it only happens once in a blue moon.
It was really nice to see Zack and Adam.

In the interest of full disclosure, none of the stories I told were true. I was just making stuff up so that you guys would think I was cool.

Wow, for what was supposed to be a lot of 'no shows' there was certainly a bakers dozen or so of people (all mentioned above), and Crystal Lake Hoffy accompanied by a fur coat wearing milf with a pearl necklace. At least that's how Costanza described her. Nice to finally meet Eaglo Jeff and Rodeo Vann, and spend some quality time learning about cell towers and Joliet projects from Frank Barone and donspiracy. Vann was pretty unrecognizable without his clown makeup and the padded barrel around him - but it was nice to hear how Richard Speck planned on raping and then killing him, or was it vice versa? Hard to recognize Stinkfinge without his hockey hat on backwards too....

Woodridge Ryan finally deciding to mingle with the commoners again too. Who knew? There is more to life than selling Chicago Rush tickets and trying to keep a relationship together. Speaking of the Rush, I saw Coach Ho walking into a Halloween Express store in South Elgin. I wasn't sure it was him until I saw the Coach Ho on the front of his jacket that said "RUSH" on the back of it. Nice. Kinda like Steve Harris wearing an Iron Maiden T-shirt.

Spaulding was certainly not on Lombardi time either. I think she got there after the show was over.

It's always nice to hear Zederman critique the show AFTER the 800lbs of sportsradio man-meat aren't around. I loved his take on their 'stage entrance' to Thunderstruck. Danny, I've never been to the Bijou Theater, but if that's how the talent enters... I'll take your word for it.

Beef Rockmore has apparently attributed his words to me. I cannot be so gracious as to accept them however

Congratulations on finding work, HH. I'm also doing a temporary job, and it isn't so bad.

I guess we can call George Bush now, so he could tell America everything is fine with the job market.

Thanks, Colonel! Congrats to you as well. We should also let John McCain and Mike North know as well, since they both agree the economy is strong! So strong in fact, that this week I might be able to add cheese to my bread sandwiches!

The worst part was that Keds no longer makes their baseball stitched shoes. :( I even sent them an email while I was buzzed last April...discontinued.
