after the last 3 very good weeks - not surprised by the local hype, surprised by the national hype. the club is a few games over .500. ross was on mlb radio yesterday morning and the hosts were fawning over him. ross talked about peaks and valleys (smiley) of a long season and said the cubs have lots of winners who know how to battle and keep the inevitable bad patches at a minimal. ok, let's hope so.

after selling, mets were brutal in their last series against the royals and orioles. the cubs and rossy were the right medicine. bad loss last night.

Why is Happ (who has been shit for over a month but denis likes him cause he takes a walk now and then) hitting 3rd? If Bellinger is hitting third instead then he's up with the bases loaded and maybe it's a different story. Ross will keep this team out of the postseason, he can't even figure out how to pitch around Pete Alonso.

i believe so. he's got better pieces - compared to april and certainly better than 2022. we'll see how quickly some of the winners get out of mini (swanson) and chronic (happ and suzuki) slumps. looks like he was dead set on giving gomes 2 full days off either due to age/fatigue and/or saw a slower bat.

never thought candelario was an all-star, but his acquisition had/has a positive domino effect - no more mancini, jared young, mastrobuoni, rios and less wisdom....maybe, even less madrigal. seems like ross' current line-up dilemma is go majority of games with suzuki or madrigal.

not even talking about the pitching. mlb network (tv and radio) are very optimistic.

Cubs next 4 opponents (12 games) are a combined 92 games <.500.

well if they want a playoff spot anything less than 8-4 is unacceptable.
